We are seeking a Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager, Indirect to lead sourcing strategy and supplier management across critical indirect spend categories within a fast-paced aerospace and defense environment. This is a highly strategic role focused on building scalable sourcing frameworks, driving supplier performance, and supporting rapid company growth from development through production scale-up.
You will own end-to-end sourcing activities across categories such as Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT Infrastructure, Facilities, Capital Equipment, and Corporate Services. The ideal candidate is highly autonomous, commercially strong, operationally minded, and comfortable operating in ambiguity while partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, Legal, IT, and Executive Leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies across indirect procurement categories including Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, and Capital Equipment
- Lead end-to-end sourcing activities including supplier selection, RFP/RFQ management, negotiations, contracting, and supplier onboarding
- Drive supplier negotiations focused on cost, scalability, risk mitigation, quality, and long-term partnerships
- Partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, Legal, and Operations teams to support company priorities
- Build scalable procurement processes and category management strategies to support rapid organizational growth
- Establish supplier performance metrics and drive continuous improvement across cost, delivery, and operational efficiency
- Support infrastructure expansion, CapEx initiatives, and operational build-outs tied to company scaling efforts
- Identify opportunities for procurement optimization, spend visibility improvements, and process automation
- Influence stakeholders and leadership through data-driven sourcing recommendations and market intelligence
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, Operations, Finance, or related field
- 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain within a high-growth or technical environment
- Strong experience managing indirect spend categories such as Professional Services, Software/SaaS, IT, Facilities, or CapEx
- Proven experience building sourcing strategies and procurement processes within startup or scaling organizations
- Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management experience involving complex agreements and contracts
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, IT, and Legal organizations
- Strong analytical, operational, and stakeholder management capabilities
- Ability to operate autonomously and drive initiatives with minimal oversight
- Experience managing multiple sourcing initiatives simultaneously under aggressive timelines
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, robotics, automotive, or hardware startup experience
- Experience supporting organizations transitioning from R&D into scaled production environments
- Familiarity with supplier industrialization, manufacturing scale-up, and infrastructure expansion efforts
- Experience supporting sourcing initiatives within regulated or security-conscious environments
- Strong understanding of ERP, procurement, and spend management systems
- Experience sourcing Software/SaaS, cloud infrastructure, technical consulting, or enterprise IT services
- MBA, CPSM, CPM, CIPS, or related procurement certifications preferred
- Experience developing procurement KPIs, dashboards, and operational reporting frameworks
- Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, execution-focused environments
