The Senior Staff Software Engineer will enhance Everbridge's SaaS-based platform while guiding junior developers, participating in agile processes, and resolving software issues.
Senior Staff Software Engineer (Everbridge, Inc.; Vienna, VA): The Senior Staff Software Engineer will enhance Everbridge’s SaaS-based Critical Event Management platform. Our platform runs on a .NET/Java stack, and we are continuously expanding the capabilities to meet the needs of our customers. Our application processes critical event data, provides visualization, and the ability to communicate worldwide with impacted users. Its purpose is to protect lives by processing and communicating about critical events. Specific responsibilities of the Senior Staff Software Engineer include: Working collaboratively with a team of full-stack developers; Participating in sprint planning sessions; Implementing new capabilities within the platform; Providing guidance to junior members of the team; Collaborating across engineering teams and guiding adoption of best practices within the team; Participating in routine maintenance of the system to include software deficiency resolution; and Learning new skills and technologies. Telecommuting permitted.
Minimum requirements: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field plus 2 years of experience in a .NET or Java full stack environment. Alternatively, will accept a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, plus 5 years of experience in a .NET or Java full stack environment.
Must have: 1 year of experience with front-end development using JavaScript frameworks. 1 year of experience working with DevOps automations tools including Jenkins. Experience writing scalable multi-threaded Web applications and Services. Experience with search technology such as Solr, Elasticsearch or similar. Experience working in a cloud-based deployment environment using Agile and Scrum.
