Optum's Enterprise Provider Growth Office is building a team of experienced, disciplined, regional healthcare sales executives to drive business development for revenue cycle services, technology-enabled services, and technology solutions.
The Revenue Cycle Solution Sales Executive is responsible for selling a wide range of revenue cycle services, technology-enabled services, and technology solutions across Texas and Tennessee. This role is remote, with preference for candidates who live in Texas, and requires the ability to travel up to 70% of the time to support client engagement, market development, executive meetings, conferences, and deal progression across the territory. The Sales Executive will have the full revenue cycle portfolio of solutions at their disposal and must be able to sell large, complex revenue cycle solutions to prospective and existing clients. This individual will bring a thorough understanding of revenue cycle operations and commit to building deep proficiency in Optum solutions, client value drivers, and market dynamics. The role is responsible for all aspects of business development, from expanding relationships to developing and closing new opportunities, while collaborating across a large, matrixed organization.
AI competency is a core expectation for this role. The Sales Executive is expected to use AI tools and AI-enabled workflows responsibly to improve territory planning, research, account prioritization, sales strategy, solution development, internal collaboration, and client engagement. The candidate should be able to leverage AI as a practical bandwidth extender, both internally and externally, to strengthen productivity, sharpen business cases, personalize outreach, accelerate follow-up, and help clients understand how AI-enabled revenue cycle capabilities can improve performance and outcomes.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $90,000 - $195,000 annually based on full-time employment. This role is also eligible to receive bonuses based on sales performance. Primary Responsibilities:
- Meet and exceed sales revenue targets by promoting and selling a wide range of revenue cycle services, technology-enabled services, and technology solutions
- Own territory strategy, account planning, pipeline development, and opportunity prioritization, using market intelligence, client research, performance insights, and AI-enabled tools to identify and advance new business
- Manage multiple concurrent sales opportunities from origination through final deal signature by leveraging standard processes, templates, data-driven business cases, and disciplined deal governance
- Serve as the sales opportunity leader and primary client point of contact throughout the deal lifecycle, coordinating internal stakeholders and maintaining clear execution accountability
- Build and advance executive-level relationships with health system leaders by connecting revenue cycle challenges, operational performance drivers, and Optum capabilities to measurable business outcomes
- Conduct market, industry, and prospective client research independently and in partnership with internal teams, applying AI tools responsibly to accelerate analysis, personalize engagement, and surface insights
- Develop sales strategies, lead RFP, RFI, and RFQ responses for new and existing clients, and translate complex client needs into executable revenue cycle solutions
- Identify opportunity risk factors early and take effective action to safeguard clients, improve deal quality, and protect the organization
- Work effectively within a matrixed environment, promoting trust, communication, and collaboration across sales, product, contracting, finance, clinical, delivery, and solution teams
- Act as an internal and external bandwidth extender by using AI-enabled workflows to improve meeting preparation, proposal development, follow-up, territory management, stakeholder alignment, and client-ready deliverables
- Provide operational revenue cycle subject matter expertise in the development of sales materials for initial and ongoing client conversations

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of experience as a quota carrying individual performer selling or supporting revenue cycle solutions, complex healthcare technology or technology-enabled services
- AI competency, including demonstrated ability to use AI tools and AI-enabled workflows responsibly to improve sales strategy, productivity, territory management, client engagement, and internal collaboration
- Adaptability and ability to pivot based on new information, market dynamics, and client needs
- Creative, strategic thinker with excellent analytic and critical thinking skills
- Self-motivated, innovative, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage a defined territory, build pipeline, prioritize accounts, and advance new business
- Proven excellent oral and written communication skills with a professional, polished presence and solid customer service orientation
- Proven excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence executive leadership and work with many internal stakeholders with different incentives to achieve the best organizational outcome
- Ability to travel up to 70% of the time across Texas, Tennessee, and other locations as business needs require
- Driver's License and access to reliable transportation
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or other post-graduate degree
- HFMA or ACHE certification
- Experience leading AI-enabled workflow transformation, adoption, go-to-market innovation, or client education in a healthcare business development context
- Healthcare software and technology experience, including revenue cycle, care management, utilization management, coding, clinical documentation integrity, or related provider operations solutions
- Solid background knowledge of the full range of Optum revenue cycle solutions and competitor market
- Track record of successful sales ownership over a personal revenue target
- Established network of health system executives, finance leaders, revenue cycle leaders, or strategy stakeholders in Texas and/or Tennessee
