Our team is part of the Security organization, responsible for developing products and platforms focused on security. Our Bot Manager product is designed to provide top-tier cloud computing security. We prevent data theft and mitigate large account takeover attempts. We build unique technology to handle petabytes of data and conduct billions of secure transactions daily.

As part of Bot Manager Engineering team, you will focus on building usable, reliable, scalable software solutions. We do it for bot threat detection, protection and control feature. Allowing our customers to better manage bot traffic and help improve the internet for millions of people.

As a Software Engineer Senior, you will be responsible for:

• Working on projects that improve our bot detection products making Akamai a leader in bot detection
• Implementing new features, enhancing existing features and optimize functionality from conception and design through testing and deployment
• Working with our level 3 support to troubleshooting complex problems or any customer issues
• Working on data analysis for web and mobile platforms
• Working on making improvements to client side components like Java scripts on need basis

Do what you love

To be successful in this role you will:

• Have 5 years of overall software development experience and relevant degree in Computer Science
• Have experience working with Java for web development & web API development
• Have a good understanding of data formats such as JSON, XML
• Work experience or understanding with Machine learning or Data science is an asset
• Be able to design with best possible architectures and write clean well-structured code
• Able to manage and prioritize own workload effectively

Compensation

Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $106,600 - $221,400/year; a candidate’s salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
