What You'll Do:

The Billing team is the steward of CoreWeave's revenue trust. We build services that make billing auditable, accurate, and clear, so CoreWeave can close deals, turn usage into cash, and help customers manage their spend with confidence. This role is on the Billing Product sub-team, which owns customer-facing surfaces, including console dashboards, exports, and APIs, as well as the backend that makes them trustworthy: supply and demand matching, revenue recognition verification, and the metering-to-invoicing pipeline.

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you own backend Go services end-to-end. You'll enable CoreWeave to capture every dollar, then make that revenue’s lineage complete, drillable, and SOX-compliant. You'll also be a technical leader, raising the bar for a team of engineers and owning money-critical services: SLAs, production hardening, observability, and on-call. Expect hands-on Go, API, and data-model design, and close work with RevOps, Accounting, Finance, and Product.

In this role, you will:

  • Own backend Go services end-to-end: demand and capacity matching, fulfillment and delivery verification, the metering-to-invoicing pipeline, and APIs where customers see their usage, costs, and invoices
  • Ensure audit-grade lineage so every billed dollar traces back to verified usage
  • Own the design and build of internal services that enable Capacity, Product, and other stakeholder teams to drive efficiency
  • Raise the reliability bar: set SLAs, harden services, add observability, and mature on-call
  • Drive technical initiatives and mentor engineers as the team grows its Go and production skills
Who You Are:
  • You've shipped and scaled business critical, financially compliant services
  • You have drafted and owned SLAs/SLOs, observability tooling, and sustainable on-call
  • You have a sharp sense for correctness and prioritize accuracy, completeness, and penny-precision.
  • You design and evolve APIs and data models–versioning, backwards compatibility, dependent team coordination, etc.
Preferred:
  • Production engineering: infra, metrics, tracing, and running money-critical services
  • Data engineering: telemetry ingestion, metering pipelines, warehouse/SQL
  • Billing, metering, rating/invoicing, and / or FinOps (e.g., FOCUS exports)

Wondering if you're a good fit? We believe in investing in our people, and value candidates who can bring their own diversified experiences to our teams – even if you aren't a 100% skill or experience match. Here are a few qualities we've found compatible with our team. If some of this describes you, we'd love to talk.

  • You build trustworthy systems, where correctness and clarity come before new features
  • You've helped a team level up–better reliability, cleaner operations–and you like to mentor
  • You care about the person spending the money: clear errors, sensible defaults, answers they can find themselves

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
