About Us

Circle is building the world’s leading all-in-one platform for online communities. We make it possible for creators, coaches, educators, and businesses to bring together their audience with engaging discussions, live streams, events, chat, courses, and payments — all in one place, all under their own brand.

We’re proud to be a fully remote company of around 180 (and growing!) team members from 30+ countries around the world. We seek exceptional individuals around the world, set them up to do the best work of their lives, and in turn, create a meaningful impact in their own lives. We don't track hours, but we do manage for high expectations very closely. We collaborate across time zones, are highly async, and like to document a lot.

Twice a year, we bring the whole company together in beautiful places around the world for our company offsites. So far, we’ve hosted offsites in Turkey, Portugal, Mexico, Thailand, Colombia, Italy, Ireland, and more, with still more to come!

About the role

We’re looking for a Senior Social Media Marketer to join Circle’s growing marketing team to run our social accounts, level up our organic social strategy, and be a key face for our brand online! Which means you must love being in-front of the camera and have a good sense of humor (and you’re maybe even a little weird).

We sell to creators who are social-native, so the bar is high. We need someone who speaks in TikTok sounds and can think in 280 character Tweets (yes, they’re still Tweets, Elon). Someone who can craft social-first videos that hook viewers in, and is the first person in their friend group to send new memes. And someone who can spot viral trends before they become played out—because no one likes a stale trend.

You should have experience with concepting, storyboarding, shooting (on mobile), editing, and be strongly visual—professional graphic design skills not required, but you should know your way around creative and video editing tools. And writing for social should be second nature—you’ll need to be as comfortable with crafting words as you are in front of the camera. Bonus points if you already have a social following!

What you'll be doing

  • As a key face for Circle's social media accounts, you’ll be writing, directing, starring in and editing content for our brand profiles on Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, X, and YouTube
  • You’ll be monitoring and engaging in social media conversations on our channels
  • You’ll always stay on top of cultural and social trends in order to (quickly) jump on creative opportunities, while ensuring they fit the Circle brand
  • You’ll manage the social media calendar to align with our broader content and product marketing plans
  • You'll be pitching and helping create content for our paid social team to promote
  • As Circle’s first dedicated social person, you’ll be responsible for growing our social media following and building and nurturing an engaged audience
  • And lastly, you’ll also be measuring and reporting on the performance of our channels to track audience growth and engagement, and suggesting improvements to our organic social strategy

What you'll need to be successful

  • Strong alignment with our values, find our values on our career page if you haven’t read up on them yet
  • A body of work that shows off your content chops—including on-camera samples (links to social posts and/or accounts in your application is perfect)
  • 2+ years of experience working in-house, ideally within a content, marketing, or brand team
  • A strong growth and experimental mindset, with past social examples to back it up
  • A focus on storytelling through content that builds communities and brand love
  • Well versed in the tools required to create compelling social content (emphasis on video)—we’re flexible on which tools you use, but you should know your way around Figma, Premiere Pro, Descript, etc
  • Not only a deep understanding of internet culture (think memes, trends, and cultural moments), but a passion for all things social media and pop culture
  • No one excels at all social platforms—so tell us which ones you’re most confident in or passionate about, and we’ll help build the strategy around your skills and interests
  • Must be a strong internal communicator who can pitch crazy ideas all the way up to senior leadership (and get buy-in!)
  • Project management skills are a must: you’re covering a lot of ground across a variety of platforms, so you’ll need to be very organized and efficient
  • All of our content is in English, so you’ll need to be a native or fluent speaker and writer

Bonus points

  • If you’ve already run social for a B2B SaaS company
  • If you’ve grown a YouTube channel (for a brand, or your own personal account)

$100,000 - $120,000 USD per year

The cash compensation range shown is a starting point. In addition to equity, benefits and perks, your cash compensation is subject to an annual review and increase on a once per year basis.

As a fully-remote international company, diversity is baked into our DNA. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
