We are seeking an experienced, highly technical, and strategically minded Senior SEO Strategist to help drive organic growth across a portfolio of behavioral healthcare and mental health treatment brands. Reporting directly to the Head of SEO Strategy, this individual will independently manage and execute sophisticated SEO initiatives spanning technical optimization, content strategy, local SEO, AI-driven search visibility, and performance analytics.

This role is a 1099 Contractor (1-4 months) with the potential to become a full time position.

The ideal candidate is an established SEO expert who can confidently manage complex projects, diagnose performance challenges, develop actionable strategies, and coordinate implementation across multiple departments. This role requires an individual who understands not only how to execute SEO initiatives but also why specific strategies work, how to measure their effectiveness, and when to adjust direction. We are looking for someone who can take a strategic objective and independently turn it into a fully executed initiative that goes well beyond surface level SEO efforts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must be 21 years or older to apply for this position.

2. Successful completion of the ADP Selective Screening Services background

check as well as any other state, federal or company required background/record

check.

4. Experience Requirement: 7+ years of progressive, hands-on SEO experience with

demonstrated ownership of complex SEO initiatives.

5. Physical Requirements: Ability to work on a computer/keyboard, use electronic

systems, communicate with others through written and verbal formats, ability to sit

for long periods of time, listening, reading comprehension, lifting up to 10 lbs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Ability to operate standard office machines and equipment, including telephones,

computers, copy machines, fax machines, calculators, scanners, and shredders.

2. Ability to be professional and maintain a positive attitude and relationships with

coworkers.

3. Excel at both written and verbal communications to convey essential information;

must be able to utilize the proper linguistic syntax and spelling.

4. Knowledge of clinical and medical terminology as it relates to the delivery of clinical

care to the clients within our programs as required by our payers.

5. Knowledge of the clinical, medical, and miscellaneous services provided to the

clients.

6. Ability to use computer software including Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat,

Quickbooks, CollaborateMD, NetSuite, and G Suite products.

7. Advanced technical SEO expertise, including structured data, website

architecture, JavaScript rendering, crawl optimization, and indexing.

8. Demonstrated experience managing SEO for multiple websites or large-scale

websites.

9. Expert proficiency with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and

Semrush or Ahrefs.

10.Extensive experience developing and executing content strategies, keyword

clusters, and internal linking frameworks.

11.Strong understanding of multi-location SEO and Google Business Profile

optimization.

12.Working knowledge of AI search and emerging organic discovery technologies.

13.Ability to independently diagnose complex SEO challenges and implement

effective solutions.

14.Strong analytical, organizational, and project management capabilities.

15.Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and

nontechnical teams.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior SEO Strategist will be responsible for all the following, and additional duties

may be removed or assigned as needed. These include but are not limited to:

Technical SEO & Website Optimization

a. Independently conduct comprehensive technical audits across multiple

websites

b. Identify and resolve issues involving crawlability, indexing, rendering,

canonicalization, redirects, and site performance

c. Develop scalable website architectures, URL structures, and internal linking

strategies

d. Implement and validate structured data and entity relationships

e. Coordinate technical recommendations with development teams and validate

implementation

f. Monitor algorithm updates, diagnose organic performance fluctuations, and

develop recovery strategies

SEO Content Strategy

a. Conduct advanced keyword research, competitive analysis, and search intent

mapping

b. Build comprehensive topical clusters, content hierarchies, and keyword-to-

URL strategies

c. Develop SEO content briefs and detailed optimization recommendations

d. Identify commercial, transactional, and informational content opportunities

e. Conduct content audits, gap analyses, and cannibalization assessments

f. Ensure content strategies align with healthcare E-E-A-T principles and YMYL

considerations

g. Develop internal linking recommendations that strengthen topical relevance

and conversion pathways

 Local SEO & Geographic Expansion

a. Manage organic visibility initiatives across multiple facilities, markets, and

states

b. Optimize Google Business Profiles and location landing pages

c. Identify geographic content opportunities based on competitive positioning,

market demand, and conversion potential

d. Monitor local rankings, Map Pack performance, and business listing accuracy

e. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to execute local

optimization initiatives

f. Support SEO strategies for new facility launches and geographic expansion

AI Search & Emerging Technologies

a. Research, evaluate, and implement strategies for improving visibility across

AI-driven search experiences

b. Analyze brand citations, mentions, and referral patterns across relevant AI

platforms

c. Understand how entity optimization, structured data, topical authority, and

content quality relate to AI search discoverability

d. Test emerging optimization approaches and evaluate their effectiveness using

available evidence

e. Monitor developments in generative engine optimization (GEO), answer

engine optimization (AEO), and traditional search

Analytics, Reporting & Business Performance

a. Independently analyze organic performance using Google Search Console,

GA4, Semrush, and other analytics platforms

b. Monitor keyword visibility, impressions, clicks, engagement, leads, and

admissions-related conversions

c. Investigate performance changes and identify their underlying causes

d. Develop dashboards, performance reports, and actionable recommendations

e. Evaluate the effectiveness of SEO initiatives against business objectives

f. Present findings and recommendations to the Head of SEO Strategy

Project Ownership & Collaboration

a. Independently manage assigned SEO initiatives from initial research through

implementation and measurement

b. Translate high-level strategic priorities into detailed execution plans

c. Coordinate with developers, content teams, designers, vendors, and

operational stakeholders

d. Maintain organized SEO documentation, roadmaps, and project timelines

e. Proactively identify optimization opportunities without waiting for assignments

f. Communicate progress, risks, and recommendations clearly and consistently
