Job Summary:

The Senior Security Consultant is responsible for leading strategic governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) engagements for Integris clients, including vCISO-aligned accounts. This role provides senior-level expertise in risk management frameworks, regulatory alignment, vulnerability and incident management governance, and executive communication. The Sr. Security Consultant owns strategic roadmaps, leads Strategic Business Reviews (SBR), develops polices, and provides budgetary and risk-based advisory services aligned to clients’ business objectives.

This position supports Integris’ mission by elevating client security posture and compliance maturity through expert guidance, structured planning, and executive-level communication. The Senior Security Consultant serves as a trusted advisor, mentors Security Advisory & Compliance staff, and ensures SAC outcomes are measurable, defensible, and aligned with Integris standards.

Job Responsibilities:

Strategic Road Mapping & vCISO Leadership

• Develop and maintain multi-quarter security and compliance roadmaps aligned to client goals and risk posture.
• Lead SBRs for vCISO clients, delivering executive-level insights, metrics, and prioritized recommendations.
• Translate regulatory and framework requirements into practical, business-aligned initiatives.

Risk Management & Framework Mastery

• Provide expert guidance on risk management and cybersecurity frameworks, including maturity assessments and control design.
• Assess risk within the context of SMB business architecture and operational constraints.
• Govern risk registers, including prioritization, acceptance, and executive approval workflows.

Incident Management Oversight

• Provide governance oversight for incident response readiness, execution, and post-incident reviews.
• Advise on improvements to incident response processes and documentation.
• Coordinate with SOC and service delivery teams to ensure governance requirements are met.

Policy Governance & Compliance Enablement

• Review, approve, and maintain client security policies and governance documentation.
• Ensure policies align with regulatory requirements and client risk posture.
• Provide executive-level guidance on the implementation and management of complex security frameworks to ensure continuous audit readiness and strategic alignment
• Oversee audit readiness planning and evidence strategy development.

Budget Advisory & Executive Communication

• Provide budget advisory aligned to roadmap execution and risk reduction outcomes.
• Deliver concise, executive-ready communications to support informed decision-making.
• Serve as an escalation point for complex SAC issues.

Operational Excellence & Leadership

• Mentor Security Consultants and Analysts through review, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
• Contribute to the evolution of Integris SAC methodologies, templates, and standards.
• Maintain required training and certifications as defined by management.

Job Qualifications

Education/Certification Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, cybersecurity, or a related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Certification Requirements: Must have, or complete, CISA, CISSP, CRISC, ISC2 CGRC, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer/Lead Auditor (or equivalent), or equivalent demonstrated experience.

Experience Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in GRC, risk management, security consulting, audit, or advisory roles.
• Mastery of risk management and cybersecurity frameworks.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements relevant to SMB environments.
• Mastery of vulnerability and incident response governance.
• Deep understanding of SMB business architecture and security tradeoffs.
• Expertise in executive communication and stakeholder management.
• Proficiency with GRC platforms, Microsoft 365, and security tooling.
