The Senior Relationship Manager, Insurance General Accounts is responsible for leading strategic relationship management efforts for Capital Group’s Insurance General Accounts business.  This role focuses on deepening existing client engagement, driving revenue growth, and ensuring exceptional service delivery.  The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, depth of knowledge in the insurance general account space, and a consultative approach to managing complex client relationships.  This role prioritizes long-term client success by aligning Capital Group’s comprehensive investment and risk management solutions with the insurance client's specific business and investment objectives. 

The ideal candidate will be high-energy, results-oriented, and passionate about performance with a desire to think strategically about a new business area for the firm.  We are looking for critical thinkers with an understanding of the end-to-end insurance ecosystem, strong problem-solving skills, the ability to simplify complex matters, and the ability to work cross-functionally to build strong relationships with partner teams and clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for general account clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and retention.

  • Develop and execute strategic expansion into the insurance general account segment, including developing the business, team and internal readiness.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams (e.g. Investment Group, Product, Operations, Compliance & Legal) to deliver tailored solutions and an exceptional service experience.

  • Analyze client portfolios to identify investment opportunities and mitigate risks.

  • Lead client meetings, presentations, and negotiations with senior stakeholders across investment and operations functions.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and partner with compliance, legal and investment teams.  Educate on evolving National Association of Insurance Commissioners regulations and be firm subject matter expert.

  • Partner with the retail insurance business development team on firm strategy and coverage for the Life & Annuity space.

  • Represent Capital Group at industry events, conferences, and consultant forums.

  • You have 10+ years of experience in relationship management with a proven track record of managing large, complex accounts and driving strategic growth in the insurance space.

  • You have strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a strategic mindset and entrepreneurial spirit.

  • You have the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels.

  • You have a deep understanding of the insurance landscape with substantial technical knowledge of different investment strategies and solutions deployed in the insurance space.

  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field; a CFA and/or advanced business degree is preferred.

  • You have the Series 7, 66 (or equivalent) and 24 licenses. 

Base Pay Range

$217,000 - $261,000

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, you will receive two annual bonuses and a generous retirement contribution.

In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
