Design and test radar systems, develop specifications, analyze radar data, and collaborate with a team of engineers and scientists. Requires extensive experience and knowledge in radar technology and system integration.
Essential Duties:
Contribute technical expertise and work within a focused team that designs, integrates and tests radar systems operating from HF to 200+ GHz.
Work closely with scientists and engineers to develop specifications and architectures for radar systems from the frontend components starting with the aperture to the backend components including the ADC, DSP, and processing flow behind it. Additional job functions include solving customer problems, writing invention disclosures, publishing papers, briefing customers, participating in proposal activities and assisting in marketing HRL expertise.
Required Skills:
Strong expertise with radar systems with an emphasis on the radar frontend and backend, phased array radar systems, digital signal processing, and radar algorithms.
10+ years of experience with radars including operation, testing and analyzing radar data. Use of MATLAB for developing radar waveforms and analyzing data collected by our systems.
Experience with system simulators such as Simulink, VSS, and Systemvue is a plus.
Deep knowledge of radar systems with an emphasis on FMCW radars, radar simulators, radar algorithms, and the analysis of radar data is desired.
Expertise with common passive and active microwave structures as well as antennas is desired.
The ability to program algorithms in C++, MATLAB, or an equivalent. Knowledge of module and subsystem operation/integration is a plus.
Familiarity with FPGAs and programming FPGAs is a plus.
Applicant must be able to interact professionally with program managers, co-workers, customers, perform detailed analyses of radar systems and components, and prepare written and oral presentations.
Ability to work well in a team and independently.
Required Education:
BS, MS, or Ph.D. with experience in Radar Systems Engineering
Physical Requirements:
Must be willing to travel and work in a team of highly skilled engineers on complex projects, and willingness to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Special Requirements:
US citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain US Government security clearance
Compensation:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $163,150 - $209,088 + bonus + benefits.
