ABOUT THE ROLE

The position is a full-time role as a Quality Assurance Analyst responsible for full verification of Fox News & Fox Business Mobile and OTT platforms, with a focus on manual functional and ads testing on our digital apps. In this role, you’ll be preventing errors from surfacing on the production apps by testing extensively prior to releases.

The Quality Assurance Analyst will have a background in functional testing, content management systems, video stream testing, and analytics verification. You will identify bugs, follow up on issues, communicate, track, and report on all aspects of the Fox News & Fox Business, mobile and OTT platforms. You will report to the Manager of QA, and will work to ensure that the best quality product is maintained in each of our app releases.

A SNAPSHOT OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manually perform end-to-end tests on Fox News & Fox Business, IOS, Android & OTT platforms (Roku, Apple TV, Android TV & Fire TV). 
  • Support existing relationships with our product, developers, engineering and QA team to troubleshoot issues. 
  • Act as point of escalation for all technical features and troubleshooting, which includes capturing ad requests, running Charles sessions with stakeholders. 
  • Manually test our apps with existing test cases, validate new features and run functional testing.
  • Identify and follow up on issues; communicate, track, and report on all aspects of QA testing. 
  • Implement, validate tests, and track problems; identify changes in pre-production and post-production code to ensure adherence to data quality based on test case requirements.
  • Analyze audience engagement from system entry to exit (end-to-end testing) and track and troubleshoot issues with the developers and the QA team.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and identify problems related to web, apps, ad tech, video player, and/or app failures caused by errors in pre-release software code.
  • Create Quality Assurance reports on testing activities, in pre-production providing testing insights.    
  • Participate in requirements gathering, maintain technical documentation, and attend scrum and technical meetings.
  • Work closely with Developers, Product Managers, Project Managers, and Design to guarantee we are providing the best product.
  • Identify and document process and workflow improvements for the QA team.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • Technical digital role experience.
  • Experience writing, maintaining and executing quality assurance test cases.
  • Must have experience with quality assurance testing, tools, and protocols, including Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Wireshark, Postman, JIRA, TestRail and other data QA validation systems. 
  • Knowledge of the digital advertising landscape and components of an ad stack, from OMS to Reporting.
  • Ability to keep competing projects on track and communicate with multiple stakeholders across many levels.
  • Strong knowledge in testing mobile apps and validating data.
  • Experience in debugging bug causes.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a team player spirit.

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEAL BREAKER

  • Experience with Google Ad Manager and Freewheel Ad Servers. 
  • Familiarity with SQL and Python (or other programming languages) 
  • Experience in 3rd party tags including VAST, VPAID, HTML, JavaScript etc. 
  • Experience and aptitude with Ads QA and troubleshooting tools and processes.

    Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay rate/range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is $95,000.00-128,000.00 annually for high cost labour markets such as but not limited to New York City and Los Angeles, $79,100.00-106,600.00 annually for all other US locations. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
