About the RoleThe Core Apps team owns Solink’s primary application framework and the most business-critical user experiences in the product — including the dashboard, event search, and video investigation. We are responsible for the performance, scalability, and reliability of the Solink web application, and for providing a stable foundation that other product teams (AI, alarms, reports, etc.) can safely build on.
As a Senior QA Automation Engineer on Core Apps, you will help protect and evolve this foundation. You’ll design and own automated testing across the application framework, shared components, and end-to-end investigation workflows that are exercised constantly by customers at scale.
This is a highly hands-on and strategic role. You’ll work closely with engineers and product partners to identify risk early, define quality standards for core experiences, and ensure that performance, stability, and user trust are not compromised as the platform evolves.
What You’ll DoApplication Framework & Automation StrategyDesign, implement, and maintain automated test coverage for the Core Apps application framework, shared UI components, and critical end-to-end user journeys
Own regression and smoke test strategies that protect the stability of the Solink web application as multiple teams ship features on top of Core Apps
Identify high-risk areas in the framework and core workflows, and ensure they are well covered by reliable, maintainable automation integrated into CI/CD
Validate core user workflows including dashboards, event search, filtering, permissions, and video investigation across browsers and environments
Test backend APIs and services that support Core Apps, ensuring correct behavior under load and across tenant-specific configurations
Actively contribute to performance and scalability testing by identifying slow paths, regressions, and edge cases in performance-sensitive areas such as video playback and large result sets
Partner with engineers to improve testability, observability, and reliability in performance-critical parts of the system
Own test planning, execution, and risk assessment for Core Apps initiatives and releases
Work closely with engineers throughout the development lifecycle to shift testing left — influencing design decisions to improve quality and long-term maintainability
Help define quality standards for teams building on top of the Core Apps platform, ensuring changes do not introduce regressions or degrade performance
Mentor and support other QA and QA Automation Engineers by contributing patterns, utilities, and best practices to shared automation frameworks
Automation & UI Testing
Python, Pytest
Playwright (end-to-end and cross-browser testing for complex user workflows)
API & Service Testing
REST API testing with Postman or equivalent tools
Contract and integration testing for services supporting the Core Apps experience
Test Management & Quality Tooling
Testmo (test planning, execution, and reporting)
CI/CD integrations for automated test execution

GitHub (version control, PR workflows)
Jira (story tracking, test planning, release validation)
Platform & Infrastructure
AWS (cloud and serverless services that support the Core Apps platform)
Linux-based environments
Observability and debugging tools used to investigate performance, reliability, and production issues
5+ years of experience in QA automation, with a strong focus on web applications, shared application frameworks, and backend services
Strong proficiency in Python-based automation frameworks (Pytest) and modern end-to-end testing tools (Playwright)
Experience testing complex, stateful user workflows across UI, APIs, and services
Proven experience validating performance-sensitive features and identifying regressions in scalability, reliability, or responsiveness
Ability to design and evolve automation strategies that balance coverage, confidence, and maintainability in a fast-moving platform team
Proven ability to independently drive test strategy, planning, and execution for business-critical features
Strong sense of ownership, with the ability to lead quality efforts for core platform areas without heavy oversight
Pragmatic problem-solver who is comfortable working in large, evolving systems with many stakeholders
Clear, thoughtful communicator who collaborates effectively with engineers, product managers, and other platform teams
