LOCATION: Apply Digital is hybrid/remote-friendly. The preferred candidate should be based in the Greater Los Angeles area, with working hours that align to PST. This is a hybrid role and requires regular on-site presence at our client's office, at least 3 days a week.

THE ROLE:

Apply Digital is seeking a Senior Project Manager who can bring clarity, structure, and momentum to complex digital programs. This role spans strategic planning, process improvement, execution, and stakeholder coordination, working hand-in-hand with internal teams and client partners. You’ll draw on your agency or consultancy experience guiding major digital transformation efforts, helping organizations operate more effectively across product, design, and engineering. We’re looking for someone who stays composed under pressure, keeps initiatives on course, and recognizes how each project connects to broader systems and platforms. Hands-on experience managing flagship initiatives and delivering cohesive digital solutions across is highly valued.

In this senior position, you’ll apply a strong understanding of agile methodologies and the software development life cycle to ensure projects are delivered with precision and quality. Acting as the bridge between business objectives and technical execution, you’ll help teams work efficiently and make informed decisions grounded in data and context. You will balance tactical oversight with strategic perspective, able to zoom in on delivery details without losing sight of long-term goals. Skilled communication and facilitation are central to your approach, enabling alignment across diverse groups and translating conversations into actionable plans, timelines, and deliverables that meet client expectations on time and within scope.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee complex digital projects from kickoff through delivery, coordinating all aspects of execution—from defining objectives and translating client outcomes into actionable plans, to managing delivery against scope, timeline, and budget.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, designers, data analysts, QA, and product managers, to ensure smooth workflows, clear communication, and successful project outcomes.
  • Guide teams through Agile and hybrid methodologies, facilitating sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives to maintain focus, transparency, and continuous improvement.
  • Define and manage project roadmaps, milestones, and capacity plans, proactively identifying dependencies, bottlenecks, and risks to keep delivery on track.
  • Serve as a key liaison between technical and business stakeholders, aligning on objectives, resource needs, and delivery priorities that support broader strategic goals.
  • Partner with analytics and technical teams to inform decisions with data, support testing strategies, and validate project performance against KPIs and success metrics.
  • Ensure data accuracy and integration across platforms, enabling insights that drive optimization and measurable business outcomes.
  • Oversee release management across multiple platforms, coordinating deployments, resolving blockers, and maintaining quality assurance standards.
  • Facilitate strategic sessions—including discovery, requirements definition, design reviews, and decision-making workshops—to drive clarity, alignment, and informed execution.
  • Maintain clear documentation, master schedules, and communication plans within project management tools to ensure visibility, accessibility, and alignment across teams.
  • Manage third-party vendors and partners, ensuring adherence to SLAs, budget expectations, and seamless integration into broader delivery workflows.
  • Report regularly on project health, risks, and performance metrics, ensuring transparency with leadership, the PMO, and client stakeholders.
  • Foster a collaborative, one-team culture by monitoring team morale, supporting continuous learning, and championing new tools and practices that elevate delivery effectiveness.
  • Manage multiple high-priority initiatives concurrently, balancing complexity, pace, and interdependencies.
  • Identify early indicators of delivery challenges and implement triage and mitigation strategies to maintain momentum.
  • Drive clarity in ambiguous environments by defining requirements, removing blockers, and aligning stakeholders around shared outcomes.
  • Proactively identify and address gaps in processes, tools, or team capabilities, escalating to leadership as needed to protect delivery.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years of experience leading complex, end-to-end digital programs in an agency, consultancy, or professional services environment—ideally for global or enterprise clients—with a strong track record of delivering high-profile digital platforms.
  • Deep experience as a Project Manager supporting technically complex digital initiatives, with ownership of timelines, budgets, scope, and delivery across evolving client and business needs.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and Agile delivery models (Scrum, Kanban, or hybrid). Agile or Scrum Master certifications (CSM, PMI-ACP, or equivalent) are an asset.
  • Skilled at cross-functional collaboration across technical, design, data, and business teams—aligning priorities, driving accountability, and ensuring seamless communication.
  • Strong facilitation capabilities, from sprint ceremonies to executive-level discussions, with the ability to translate conversations into clear plans, decisions, and measurable outcomes.
  • Technically fluent, able to engage credibly on topics such as AI, data analytics, cloud architecture, and platform integrations, and comfortable using analytics for data-informed decision-making.
  • Experience managing headless or composable implementations across eCommerce, CMS, loyalty, or personalization platforms (e.g., CommerceTools, Contentful, Talon.One, Auth0, Segment).
  • Adept at managing vendors and partners, including defining scopes, budgets, SLAs, and ensuring effective integration with internal teams.
  • Proficient with project and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Airtable, Notion, Smartsheet, and Google Suite; experience managing Jira development boards is a plus.
  • Skilled in tracking and reporting KPIs and performance metrics, using insights to drive delivery improvements and operational efficiency.
  • Strong relationship builder who can work confidently with Director, VP, and C-suite stakeholders, using sound judgment, diplomacy, and clear communication.
  • Demonstrates strong leadership presence—able to motivate teams, influence decisions, and model professionalism, accountability, and resilience under pressure.
  • High emotional intelligence, with the ability to read a room, adapt communication styles, and navigate complex interpersonal dynamics to maintain alignment and trust.
  • Proactive and self-directed, with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to anticipate risks, identify opportunities, and solve problems independently.
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, shifting environments while managing multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experienced contributing to PMO-driven frameworks, governance, planning cadences, and reporting cycles.
  • Successful track record delivering work across internal delivery teams and vendor- or partner-supported models.
