RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead Complex Technical Projects
- Manage heat pump certification and testing projects from initial customer engagement through to final certification.
- Define project scope, testing requirements, costs, timelines, and technical deliverables.
- Review technical documentation, product designs, and test data to determine compliance with applicable standards.
- Provide technical recommendations and resolve complex engineering challenges.
Drive Technical Excellence
- Act as a subject matter expert for heat pump performance and energy efficiency standards.
- Interpret and apply international and regional standards to support customers and internal stakeholders.
- Develop innovative test methods and evaluation approaches for emerging technologies.
- Support the development of new laboratory capabilities and technical procedures.
Influence Industry Standards
- Represent the organisation on international, regional, and national technical committees.
- Collaborate with industry associations, certification scheme owners, and accreditation bodies.
- Contribute to the evolution of performance, sustainability, and energy efficiency requirements across the HVAC sector.
Support Laboratory Operations
- Coordinate and witness testing at manufacturer facilities and third-party laboratories.
- Develop technical guidance, training materials, and best practice documentation.
- Support accreditation activities, technical audits, proficiency testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Partner with Customers and Industry Leaders
- Provide expert technical support throughout the certification process.
- Build strong relationships with manufacturers and industry stakeholders.
- Support business development by identifying market opportunities and promoting new services.
- Work closely with engineering, laboratory, certification, and commercial teams to expand service capabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Energy Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in heat pump technology, HVAC performance testing, certification, product development, or standards development.
- Strong technical knowledge of applicable standards: EN 14511, EN 14825, EN 12102, EN 16147, ISO 5151, ISO 13253, and ISO 16358.
- Experience working within accredited testing or certification environments.
- Strong project management and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to apply technical expertise to complex or novel products and technologies.
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
