The Role

Red 6 is seeking an experienced Program Manager that will be responsible for the execution of one or more development engineering programs across the full acquisition lifecycle. The Program Manager leads cross-functional teams to deliver technical, cost, schedule, and performance objectives in compliance with customer contract requirements, DoD acquisition regulations (as applicable), and internal program management processes.

The Program Manager serves as the primary point of contact with one or more contract customers and ensures successful program execution from requirements definition through development, test, qualification, and the transition to production or fielding. This role requires deep experience managing cost, schedule, and performance on complex defense programs, with direct responsibility for contract execution, customer engagement, and internal coordination across engineering, operations, finance, and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for program execution across cost, schedule, performance, and risk.

  • Establish Cost and Schedule execution baselines based on contractual requirements and scope.

  • Establish Risk and Opportunity tracking and management, including mitigation planning for quantified risks.

  • Status and manage program execution and deliveries to plan with regular reporting to company leadership and customers.

  • Serve as primary customer focal for one or more Red 6 execution contracts.

  • Project and update revenue and cash models associated with contract execution.

  • Manage program resourcing in alignment with cost and schedule baseline.

  • Closely coordinate with program technical leadership across engineering, test, quality and manufacturing to execute technical scope.

  • Closely interact with business development and support such activities as proposal creation, contract instantiation, revenue projection.

  • Organize and track deployed system status and support efforts, including software deployment within Government DevSecOps environments

  • Manage suppliers and subcontractors through detailed and prescriptive statements of work and specifications.

  • Ensure compliance with security requirements, export controls (ITAR), and cybersecurity mandates (e.g., CMMC as applicable).

  • Ensure adherence to internal quality management systems and AS9100.

Experience, Skills, and Required Qualifications

  • BS/BA in related field plus 8+ years or more related program leadership experience.

  • BS or higher degree in a science or engineering discipline strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated experience managing programs within government acquisition processes.

  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communication.

  • Ability to create and deliver presentations and technical/programmatic reports to key leadership and the customer.

  • Demonstrated ability to create, status, and maintain programmatic products, including, but not limited to, Integrated Master Schedules, Statements of Work, detailed Technical Specifications, Risk and Opportunity Management databases, Cost/Cash/Revenue Models, and Resource projections.

  • Familiarity and comfort managing in both Agile and Waterfall execution frameworks.

  • Qualified candidate must have the ability to obtain a security clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship

Preferred / Additional Skills

  • EVMS experience preferred.

  • PMP certification preferred.


    Estimated Base Salary Range:
    $160,000-$200,000 dependent on skills and experience
