You are equally comfortable discussing customer outcomes with business stakeholders as well as data architecture, pipelines, and semantic models with engineering teams.

You will lead the strategy and execution for data assets that enable trusted, governed datasets for teams across the business. Your work will lay the foundation for advanced ML & AI use cases, experimentation, personalization, automation, and enterprise reporting.

We are looking for a technically minded Product Manager who will partner closely with engineering, analytics, machine learning, governance, and business stakeholders to define products that are trusted, scalable, and AI-ready.

You enjoy working at the intersection of technology, data, and business strategy and are energized by solving complex platform problems and launching AI data products

How you’ll CREATE:

  • Define product strategy for foundational data capabilities, including curated datasets, semantic models, feature stores, APIs, and data services that enable downstream analytics and AI applications

  • Define, track, and report key data product metrics, including adoption, data quality, latency, completeness, and downstream usage.

  • Define and deliver reusable, scalable, well-documented data assets for analytics, BI, ML, and operational use cases.

  • Partner with data engineering, governance, ML Engineering, and analytics teams to define data models, domain boundaries, data contracts, transformation logic, and data quality standards that enable scalable enterprise products.

  • Translate business requirements into technical product requirements, balancing usability, scalability, governance, and long-term platform vision.

  • Ensure data assets are structured to support experimentation, personalization, predictive analytics, and AI initiatives.

  • Support integrations with new data sources to enhance data completeness and enrichment

  • Remove impediments for engineering teams due to unclear requirements, misaligned priorities, or stakeholder ambiguity.

  • Leverage AI-assisted product management practices to accelerate discovery, documentation, prototyping, and delivery while maintaining strong governance and quality standards.

Bring your VIBE:

  • 5+ years of experience building data-intensive products, with a strong technical foundation in data engineering, analytics, or data architecture. Previous hands-on experience in one of these disciplines is highly desirable.

  • Demonstrated ability to earn credibility with highly technical engineering teams while effectively communicating complex concepts to executive and business stakeholders.

  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture, dimensional modeling, semantic layers, data contracts, APIs, and scalable data platform design.

  • Experience partnering closely with data engineering and analytics teams to deliver scalable data solutions.

  • Experience working with modern cloud data platforms, orchestration frameworks, data transformation tools, and metadata/governance platforms

  • Strong SQL skills with the ability to independently validate data, investigate issues, and collaborate effectively with engineers during solution design.

  • Experience in defining and measuring data quality and governance standards

  • Comfortable discussing architectural tradeoffs with engineers and understand how platform decisions impact scalability, performance, governance, and downstream AI use cases.

  • Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills

  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and driving alignment across diverse teams

  • Previous experience as a management consultant a plus

  • Strong storyteller and systems thinker

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
