At Compass, our mission is to help everyone find their place in the world. Founded in 2012, we’re revolutionizing the real estate industry with our end-to-end platform that empowers residential real estate agents to deliver exceptional service to seller and buyer clients.

We’re seeking a Senior Product Manager II to work on the consumer search experience for the largest real estate brokerage in the U.S. As part of the consumer growth team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on a large set of problems across the search experience on web, mobile, and email platforms. You’ll turn new users into active searchers and convert them into leads for our agents. This is a highly cross-functional role that combines product strategy, user experience, experimentation, analytics, and execution. The ideal candidate is energized by complex consumer problems, thrives in ambiguity, and has a track record of delivering measurable growth.

At Compass You Will:

  • Own strategy, roadmap, and execution for a key area within the Consumer Growth team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve acquisition, activation, engagement, retention, and conversion across the consumer journey.
  • Define success metrics and drive measurable improvements in user engagement and business performance.
  • Develop and execute on the product strategy and roadmap, leading the full product lifecycle from ideation through development to launch.
  • Own a set of consumer growth metrics, design A/B tests that answer real questions, and use the results to guide what ships and what gets cut.
  • Lead quarterly and ongoing planning processes in partnership with engineering, ensuring alignment on priorities and delivery goals
  • Cultivate a positive team culture that encourages collaboration, creativity, and innovation, fostering an environment where diverse perspectives are valued and respected

What We Look For:

  • 6+ years of consumer product management experience shipping web and mobile experiences to millions of users.
  • Experience with consumer marketplaces, search, discovery, recommendations, growth, engagement, or conversion products.
  • Familiarity with experimentation platforms and A/B testing
  • Experience applying AI or machine learning to improve consumer experiences.
  • Passion for real estate, local discovery, marketplaces, or consumer technology.
  • Strong technical foundations, either from academic, engineering, or hands-on product development experience, with an ability to assess and contribute to engineering discussions related to a product
  • Strong consensus and relationship-building skills, with experience marshaling resources across different functions of an organization
  • Ability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environment, bringing clarity to ambiguity
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that allows you to influence other teams, create clarity, and drive focus on complex problems

Compensation: The base pay range for this position is $166,400-$184,900; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Bonuses and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of benefits. Base pay is based on market location. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
