  • Define and execute a product vision that brings differentiated innovation to market and helps set a new standard for digital home lending.
  • Own and prioritize the product backlog for your engineering squad, writing detailed requirements and partnering closely with developers to deliver iteratively against both near-term opportunities and long-term strategy.
  • Own instrumentation and data for your products to drive deep understanding, sharper product decisions, and new growth opportunities.
  • Lead experimentation to accelerate learning, uncover member insights, and drive measurable customer and business impact.
  • Identify and launch new functionality that reduces friction, improves application completion, and further differentiates SoFi’s home loan offering from competitors.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across engineering, design, data science, marketing, operations, legal, compliance, capital markets, and executive leadership to translate customer needs and market opportunities into product strategy and execution.
  • Operate in a fast-paced agile environment, making clear trade-offs and decisions to move quickly while maintaining focus on bigger strategic outcomes.
  • Be a champion of SoFi’s values.

What you’ll need

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, ideally in a technical, finance, or quantitative field
  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Experience developing and launching features across both 1st and 3rd party platforms, while consistently prioritizing a high-quality user experience
  • Superior communication skills, written and verbal. Experience presenting to executive leadership
  • Experience delivering quality software that solves business and user needs
  • Strong analytical and data-driven mindset; able to dive into financial and operational metrics
  • Experience owning end-to-end product delivery, from discovery through launch and iteration
  • High bias for action, strong ownership, and comfort operating in ambiguous, fast-moving cross-functional environments
  • Passion for your users! You do right by them, always
  • Ability to work with remote teams

Nice to have

  • Experience with hypothesis-based product experimentation
  • Experience speaking to actual users, empathizing with them and gathering insights, and translating those insights into meaningful product enhancements

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
