We are looking for a Senior Product Manager II to own the critical user activation phase in our product-led growth motion at DigitalOcean. This is a compelling opportunity to drive tremendous impact serving a global customer base. In this role, you will define and execute the product activation strategy, helping new users experience the value of DigitalOcean quickly, and converting them into long-term engaged customers by improving onboarding, activation flows, and driving multi product adoption at scale.

We expect candidates to be experienced in identifying, prioritizing and executing growth A/B tests and taking a data-informed, customer-centric approach to meet growth goals, preferably in the B2B SaaS space. You are comfortable with ambiguity, seek to drive clarity and are adept at thoughtful collaboration with cross-functional teams to identify solutions and ship with velocity.

If you're a self-starter with a growth mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for solving complex problems, we'd love to hear from you. Join us in shaping the future of cloud computing at DigitalOcean.

We want people who are passionate about:

  • Pioneering growth strategies that align with our mission to simplify cloud computing so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world.
  • Leveraging data-informed insights to fuel innovation and optimize product performance.
  • Collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams to push the boundaries of technology and create impactful user experiences.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Defining user journeys and product experiences for activation, engagement and retention by user segment.
  • Identifying, prioritizing and implementing growth experiments and strategies that align with DigitalOcean’ s objectives.
  • Collaborating closely with designers, engineers, lifecycle marketers, data analysts, top-of-funnel and other product teams across the organization to refine the team’s roadmap and to implement product initiatives, from conception to execution.
  • Regularly presenting growth performance and insights to senior management, informing strategic decisions.

What You’ll Add to DigitalOcean:

  • 8+ years of experience in Growth, at least 5+ in Growth Product, with a proven track record in leading growth initiatives.
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills, with experience in metrics-driven decision making and A/B testing.
  • Deep understanding of the product development lifecycle and experience in agile methodologies.
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration skills, with the ability to lead and inspire teams across the organization.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to balance short-term gains with long-term vision.
  • Technical acumen to effectively communicate with engineering teams and understand the product’s technical challenges.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to drive initiatives and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Customer-centric mindset with a passion for improving user experience and satisfaction.
  • Experience with developer products and audiences is a huge plus.

Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean

  • We innovate with purpose. You’ll be a part of a cutting-edge technology company with an upward trajectory, who are proud to simplify cloud and AI so builders can spend more time creating software that changes the world. As a member of the team, you will be a Shark who thinks big, bold, and scrappy, like an owner with a bias for action and a powerful sense of responsibility for customers, products, employees, and decisions.
  • We prioritize career development. At DO, you’ll do the best work of your career. You will work with some of the smartest and most interesting people in the industry. We are a high-performance organization that will always challenge you to think big. Our organizational development team will provide you with resources to ensure you keep growing. We provide employees with reimbursement for relevant conferences, training, and education. What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
