Our technology helps advertisers reach the right audiences across the open internet — from streaming TV and podcasts to mobile apps, news, and more.

The scale of our platform brings unique technical challenges — from processing massive datasets in real time to building systems that operate reliably on a global scale. When you work here, your impact is worldwide. We welcome diverse perspectives, encourage curiosity, and build teams that learn from one another. If you’re driven to solve meaningful challenges, we’d love to meet you.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

We are looking for a driven Senior-level Product Manager who learns fast, who is humble and values teamwork; who is hungry and believes they can make our customers’ world a better place. The ideal candidate will be technical, data driven, creative, and business savvy. They will be growth oriented and able to strive for product-market fit with their teams.  The kind of person who joins The Trade Desk Product Team is fearless, courageous, passionate and willing to dream big and then execute on it. We are committed to helping you grow, challenging you with hard, meaningful work and celebrating our successes and failures together. Yes, we do fail at times because we believe risk is part of making big bets. So we take
the risks and learn from them. We also value strong leadership, asking our PMs to take on large, ambitious and often ambiguous projects that can help extend our lead in the industry.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

As a product manager on the Audience team you will be responsible for building the vision and strategy for The Trade Desk’s suite of audience products that help advertisers better understand their consumers through insights and reach them effectively through better targeting improving performance and growing their brand. This work increasingly relies on Agentic-AI workflows to identify and reach the highest value consumers.
As a Product Manager on the Audience Team at the Trade Desk, your responsibilities will include:
 Defining the product strategy and roadmap for the next generation of audience and insights tools.
 Owning the strategy, roadmap, and execution for insights and audience products.
 Working closely with stakeholders across our Engineering, Data Science, and Business teams - helping to align on strategy and thinking through tradeoffs and customer impact.
 Gathering customer requirements, designing prototypes, prioritizing and scoping releases that represent customers’ needs, and then working with the rest of the engineering team to bring those products to life and iterate on them over time.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

 You have built complex products that take years of iterations to become great.
 Proven background using data to make decisions to identify opportunities and iterate on products to achieve desired outcomes. A background in data science, analytics, or engineering a plus.
 5+ years of combined experience in Product Management with academic or professional background in math, statistics, or data science.
 Excellent communication/presentation skills both in large and small groups.  Demonstrable ability to align stakeholders across different disciplines.
 A sustained track record of making significant, self-directed, and end-to-end contributions to large and impactful software projects.
 Ability to solve complex, technical problems with creative solutions while managing tradeoffs.
 Ability to write detailed specifications that clearly articulate the ‘why’ behind the problem.
 Experience working with distributed teams.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
