Want to help us help others? We’re hiring!

GoFundMe is the world’s most powerful community for good, dedicated to helping people help each other. By uniting individuals and nonprofits in one place, GoFundMe makes it easy and safe for people to ask for help and support causes—for themselves and each other. Together, our community has raised more than $40 billion since 2010.

Join us! The GoFundMe team is searching for our next Senior Product Designer - Mobile App Experience to help people overcome one of the hardest things they’ll ever do: asking for help. This role isn’t just about pixels and prototypes—it’s about empathy, clarity, and creating real human impact. We’ve worked hard to create a safe space for our fundraiser organizers, and with this, we’re creating a new world for supporters to centralize all of their giving. You’ll play a big role in helping to define how that world makes a lasting impact through our mobile app experiences.

You’ll be a core part of a triad leadership team, working shoulder-to-shoulder with your Product and Engineering partners to shape the vision, strategy, and execution of our most critical initiatives. Together, you’ll drive cross-functional collaboration, unlock user value, and guide the evolution of our platform.

We’re looking for a creative, strategic thinker with strong craft and a deep sense of purpose. Someone who thrives in ambiguity, leads with curiosity, and brings others along for the journey.
While officially a remote-eligible role, we’re looking for candidates based in Los Angeles, or San Francisco.

The Job…

  • Help define the experience strategy for the product and work with other designers to drive consensus across the mobile app team.
  • Leverage quantitative and qualitative data to drive design decisions that create user value and business impact.
  • Facilitate design workshops with cross-functional team members to ideate, brainstorm, and establish conceptual direction.
  • Create and deliver high-fidelity designs, prototypes, and specifications.
  • Contribute to and help evolve the Heart design system within the mobile app experience.
  • Collaborate with the product team to take conceptual ideas and turn them into usable, delightful, and valuable product features.
  • Actively participate in group design critiques to solicit and provide thoughtful feedback.

You…

  • 6+ years of experience as a Product Designer working in-house or at an agency.
  • Mobile app experience designing for iOS and Android.
  • Bring an expert understanding of the formal elements of design, including typography, layout, balance, and proportion.
  • You have great aesthetic judgment and attention to detail.
  • You are skilled at articulating your design decisions.
  • You are a problem solver who requires very little guidance on projects and thrives in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have the ability to take initiative, prioritize, manage workloads, and meet project deadlines.
  • You are an excellent communicator and can clearly articulate your design decisions, ideas, and vision.
  • You are empathetic and have a user-centered approach to design.
  • Experience working with a lean team of Engineers, Product Managers and User Researchers.

Why you’ll love it here...

  • Make an Impact: Be part of a mission-driven organization making a positive difference in millions of lives every year.
  • Innovative Environment: Work with a diverse, passionate, and talented team in a fast-paced, forward-thinking atmosphere.
  • Collaborative Team: Join a fun and collaborative team that works hard and celebrates success together.
  • Competitive Benefits: Enjoy competitive pay and comprehensive healthcare benefits.
  • Holistic Support: Enjoy financial assistance for things like hybrid work, family planning, along with generous parental leave, flexible time-off policies, and mental health and wellness resources to support your overall well-being.
  • Growth Opportunities: Participate in learning, development, and recognition programs to help you thrive and grow.
  • Commitment to DEI: Contribute to diversity, equity, and inclusion through ongoing initiatives and employee resource groups.
  • Community Engagement: Make a difference through our volunteering and Gives Back programs.

We live by our core values: impatient to be great, find a way, earn trust every day, fueled by purpose. Be a part of something bigger with us!

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
