With 100,000+ active communities and approximately 101M+ daily active unique visitors, Reddit is one of the internet’s largest sources of information. For more information, visit redditinc.com.

This role is completely remote-friendly. If you happen to live close to one of our physical office locations, our doors are open for you to come into the office as often as you'd like.

As a Senior Product Designer on the Consumer UX team, you will design the experiences that we offer specifically to businesses and brands that help them understand how to find and engage with relevant, vibrant communities and conversations on Reddit. We believe that many brands are missing a core ingredient to be successful today — community. Having an organic presence on Reddit can unlock community and drive engagement and relevance for every business.

Reddit Pro is an ongoing initiative that offers advanced tooling for businesses that unlocks the power of Reddit’s 100k active communities & conversations – where opinions are formed and decisions are made.

The experience we offer brands will help them harness the power of community to hear authentic perspectives from their biggest fans and their most informed critics, reach new users and find informed users who provide real time, thoughtful feedback on services they offer or are considering. This will also inevitably generate opportunities for brands to directly receive ideas generated from their community, similar to how social influencers today look for content ideas from Reddit. Longer term, businesses will also be able to build on this deep relationship with their Reddit communities by leveraging complementary monetized solutions from Reddit.

As part of this role you will collaborate closely with designers across the consumer and Ads organization, as well as with product managers, engineers, and researchers to create delightful new experiences that connect businesses with the most relevant content and communities across Reddit.

Responsibilities:

  • Be a strategic problem solver, conceptualizing non-obvious improvements that push Reddit further, and help the team chart a path to get there.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to uncover and understand user needs and business objectives.
  • Translate complex ideas into elegant, scalable, and intuitive design solutions.
  • Execute at every stage of the design lifecycle from ideation to delivery, balancing innovation with usability.
  • Drive consensus across diverse teams through effective exploration, communication, and presentation to design peers and senior leadership.
  • Up-level the team’s quality of craft by inspiring and mentoring more junior designers

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills in designing for web and mobile applications.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating product sensibilities; experience in social or consumer-facing products preferred.
  • Ability to navigate complexity and find clarity in ambiguous situations
  • Strong communication skills while working closely with partners across the company
  • Humble, curious, and motivated to ship the best product
  • Exceptional storyteller with strong writing and presentation skills, skilled at engaging stakeholders and building alignment to drive meaningful impact.

Benefits:

  • Comprehensive Healthcare Benefits and Income Replacement Programs
  • 401k Match
  • Family Planning Support
  • Gender-Affirming Care
  • Mental Health & Coaching Benefits
  • Flexible Vacation & Reddit Global Days off
  • Generous paid Parental Leave
  • Paid Volunteer time off

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
