As a Senior Private Cloud Engineer, you will plan, implement, and support private cloud solutions at the highest technical level, following best practices. You will design and deploy VMware-based architectures for SDDCs, lead POCs and health checks, and provide expert technical support to customers within agreed Service Level Agreements.
This role combines hands-on virtualization engineering, architecture design and documentation, and consulting skills, working closely with solutions architects and team members to deliver the right solution for each customer.
Objectives & Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and support our solutions at top level according to best practices.
- Create High & Low-level design documents, including procedures documentation.
- Install and configure Private Cloud solutions as part of the project scope (HCI, Software Defined Network, etc.).
- Provide effective technical support and fault resolution with timely feedback to customers, adhering to Service Level Agreements.
- Take ownership of patching and upgrade projects for private cloud environments in various organizations.
- Test new technologies, find the appropriate use cases, and lead POC activities.
- Keep up to date with private cloud solutions using documentation and LAB tests, and maintain required certifications.
- Work closely with other team members and solutions architects to provide the right solution to our customers.
- Lead a comprehensive Health Check process, provide reports, and assess best practice deviations.
Requirements
- Virtualization specialist with 3-5 years working with VMware environments.
- Demonstrated consulting skills, ideally through previous roles as a Consultant or Architect.
- Experience designing and implementing VMware based architecture for SDDCs.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot RCAs in virtualized environments.
- Hands-on experience with vSphere, vSAN, SRM, vROPS, vRLI or Nutanix.
- Experience with installing, updating, and managing physical racks: UCS, HP, DELL.
- VCP-DCV Certification - highly preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly motivated, team player, and dedicated individual, willing to learn and progress with current Hybrid Cloud technologies.
- Knowledgeable in configuring and understanding infrastructure networking and SDN (Cisco switches and routers, Juniper devices, FortiGate, NSX-V, NSX-T) - Advantage.
