About the Job:

SmartAsset AMP is a lead generation platform for financial advisors, offering those in the wealth management industry a way to automate their marketing efforts to save time and grow their business simultaneously. In this Senior PR Manager role, we seek someone who can focus on growing our brand recognition and trust, while strategizing and executing earned media and social campaigns from end to end.

We are looking for an innovative thinker who will push the bounds of a traditional PR playbook to build a public reputation primarily in the B2B space of RIAs and wealth management firms, but also in the eyes of consumers who may be looking to employ these firms. A traditional background in PR or communications is not necessary for the right candidate with proven abilities to capture positive attention from specific target audiences.

Responsibilities:
  • Promotion of company as a thought leader at the intersection of wealth management and marketing
  • Plan and execute earned media strategies and outreach to generate relevant, high DA backlinks
  • Build and maintain relationships with trade publication reporters, financial news reporters and RIA members
  • Collaborate with Demand Generation and Sales team to create and promote collateral
  • Build B2B email outreach lists; newsletter curation
  • Plan and implement B2B LinkedIn campaigns to maximize exposure and brand recognition particularly in the RIA and wealth management space
  • General online reputation management; help lead crisis communications if and when necessary
  • Implement new branding elements for public ubiquity
  • Build outbound B2B awards program
  • Manage progress toward PR team KPIs
  • Continuously seek to optimize workflows and look forward to identify new opportunities to build awareness and trust in the public eye
Skills/Experience you have:
  • 5-7 years of experience in a competitive public-facing role, including in PR, communications or wealth management
  • Ability to write and create compelling content across a variety of mediums, including pitches, newsletter, press releases and product-related content
  • Experience with personal finance, fintech, wealth management, financial advisory or other relevant subject matter
  • The ability to articulate and address the pain points of various target audiences through their preferred channels of communication
  • Team and project management experience; good delegation and prioritization skills
  • Any unique successes in attracting positive attention from a specific target audience
  • Ability to engage with target demographics and maximize exposure on LinkedIn; X
  • Comfort interpreting and relaying data accurately to reporters (think: percentage versus point; median versus mean)
  • Ability to establish appropriate KPIs to measure effectiveness of new efforts and allocate resources based on said data
  • A thorough, thoughtful and curious researcher
  • Familiarity with/comfort using LLMs and for various use cases
  • Familiarity with SEO
  • Basic video editing with tools like Canva
  • Familiarity with email outreach and list-building software (e.g., Yesware, Cision)

Skills/Experience preferred:

  • Structure and improvements to email outreach campaigns
  • Building owned-audience B2B lists for LI and email comprised of our target demos in the wealth management industry (currently just media lists)
  • Building out an awards program (this is high-eyeballs opportunity and goes hand-in-hand with the owned audience list-building)
  • Being able to quantify and optimize current email outreach campaigns
  • LinkedIn strategy and implementation – what we do now is not effective

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer 
  • Must be able to communicate via phone calls and/or video conferences (mainly for concierge and sales roles)

California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maryland, Nevada, Rhode Island, Washington, and New York City residents* $134,000 to $175,000 base salary + RSUs + benefits.

Salary at SmartAsset is determined based on permissible, non-discriminatory factors such as skills, experience, and geographic location within the contiguous United States
