We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer with deep expertise in release engineering, to architect, build, and operate a development platform that other teams will use to build products and services. The ideal candidate is a skilled programmer that knows how to build reusable and scalable system capabilities with Kubernetes and AWS.

**This role is fully remote within the US**

What You’ll Do

  • Contribute to the design and capabilities of the SmarterDx development platform.
  • Build, deploy, maintain, and monitor common AWS infrastructure with Terraform. 
  • Build capabilities using Kubernetes custom controllers in Go and deploy common libraries in Python and Typescript to utilize common data, observability, and monitoring systems.
  • Ensure the security of our clients’ data by building secure patterns into the fabric of the system in close collaboration with Security Engineering. 
  • Design and evolve robust, secure, and scalable CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or equivalent.
  • Implement progressive delivery strategies (blue/green, canary, feature flags).
  • Automate software versioning, tagging, changelog generation, and deployment processes across staging and production.
  • Collaborate with developers to improve build reliability, performance, and observability.
  • Drive release reliability and rollback safety through tooling, infrastructure policy, and automation.

What You Bring

  • 7-10+ years of development experience, with a focus on backend and cloud-based solutions.
  • 2+ years of hands-on production work with cloud infrastructure, containers, monitoring, and alerting
  • Expert-level knowledge of CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Jenkins, etc.).
  • Expertise with Terraform and Kubernetes
  • Experience with Go and Python, especially using Kubernetes APIs.
  • Familiarity with software supply chain security practices (e.g., SBOMs, image signing).
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools like AirFlow and dbt.
  • Experience with Snowflake or similar data warehouses.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare sector.

Compensation

$180-230k base + equity incentives
