About the role

Delinea is looking for a Senior People Business Partner to partner with our Finance and Legal organizations. You'll partner with the Finance and Legal leadership teams and work closely with the VP, Global People Business Partners on executive-level priorities. You'll help them build, develop, and keep the teams that run the business and protect the company. This is a senior individual contributor role on the Global PBP team. It's hands-on: you'll work on everything from org design and talent planning to manager coaching and employee relations.

Finance and Legal are small, focused teams, which makes this a great opportunity to grow. You'll own the full range of PBP work for your client groups, get direct exposure to senior leaders, and build the experience to take on broader scope over time.

What you'll do

  • Strategic partnership: Partner with Finance and Legal leadership teams to turn business priorities into people plans covering talent, team structure, and culture.

  • Org design & workforce planning: Run headcount planning and partner on team design for Finance and Legal. Help leaders think through how automation and AI change roles, skills, and ways of working in these functions.

  • Talent & succession: Run talent reviews and calibration, and support succession planning for senior roles. Find critical talent in areas like FP&A, accounting, tax, commercial legal, and compliance, and build plans to keep them.

  • Manager coaching: Coach managers on performance, feedback, and team effectiveness. Help first-time and growing leaders build their skills.

  • Change management: Run change plans for organization, process, and systems changes, keeping people informed and engaged.

  • Employee relations: Handle ER matters with sound judgment and discretion, working with the People COEs.

  • Total rewards & performance: Work with Compensation on career frameworks, leveling, offers, and annual pay and performance cycles.

  • Data-driven insights: Use people data (attrition, engagement, hiring speed, org health) to spot trends and drive decisions.

  • Culture & engagement: Act on engagement survey results and build an inclusive, high-performing culture across Finance and Legal.

What you bring

  • 7+ years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years as an HRBP supporting Finance, Legal, or other corporate functions, ideally in a B2B SaaS or tech company

  • Experience partnering with director- and VP-level leaders, ideally in a CFO or General Counsel organization

  • An understanding of finance and legal roles, career paths, and talent markets

  • Strong experience in talent management, plus hands-on experience with org design and change management

  • Strong judgment in employee relations, plus sound knowledge of employment law in multiple countries

  • A high level of discretion with sensitive and confidential information

  • Comfort with data and with HR systems (e.g., Workday)

  • Curiosity about AI and how it's reshaping work, roles, and skills

  • The ability to work independently, influence without authority, and challenge leaders constructively

  • Global experience preferred (US, EMEA, APAC, LATAM)

Why work at Delinea?

  • We're passionate problem-solvers helping the world's largest organizations protect what matters most: their human and machine identities.

  • We invest in people who are smart, self-motivated, and collaborative.

  • What we offer in return is meaningful work, a culture of innovation and great career progression.

At Delinea, our core values are STRONG and guide our behaviors and success:

  • Spirited - We bring energy and passion to everything we do

  • Trust - We act with integrity and deliver on our commitments

  • Respect - We listen, value different perspectives, and work as one team

  • Global - We embrace diverse people and ideas to drive better outcomes

We believe weaving these core values into our day-to-day actions, and our process for hiring, evaluating, and promoting employees, helps us cultivate a work environment that embraces collaboration and camaraderie.

We take care of our employees. We offer competitive salaries, a meaningful bonus program, and excellent benefits, including healthcare insurance, as well as pension/retirement matching, comprehensive life insurance, an employee assistance program, time off plans, and paid company holidays.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
