About this Role:

Consertus is seeking a Senior Office Engineer to support Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) facilities capital improvement projects. This role supports project delivery activities throughout planning, design, and construction, and works closely with Senior Project Managers/OARs and Project Engineers to help ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in accordance with client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project delivery activities for assigned work, supporting planning through construction.
  • Assist with project scheduling and tracking (planning, milestones, and deliverables).
  • Track project planning and design activities and support alignment to schedule requirements.
  • Review plans, specifications, and related project documents to support project execution.
  • Assist with preparing cost estimates and/or reviewing contractor/vendor pricing as needed.
  • Conduct and/or participate in site walks to verify existing conditions and scope impacts.
  • Review constructability issues and support coordination to resolve field/design conflicts.
  • Maintain project files and documentation in accordance with LAUSD requirements (electronic and hard copy as required).
  • Coordinate progress meetings, including agenda support, minutes, action items, and follow-up.
  • Track RFIs/submittals and key deliverables (as applicable to the project) and support timely routing/closure.
  • Support project controls reporting as required (status updates, logs, dashboards, and coordination items).
  • Assist with coordination between stakeholders (design teams, contractors, client staff, and third parties).
  • Support procurement and contract administration documentation as needed for project execution.
  • Assist with project closeout activities, including punchlist coordination and closeout documentation tracking.
  • Perform other duties as directed by Senior Project Managers/OARs or Project Engineers.

Minimum Qualifications

Required Experience

  • Eight (8) years of full-time paid professional experience in a similar or equivalent role involving project or construction management of commercial and/or public or educational facility construction projects with values in excess of $15M.
  • Strong knowledge of construction documentation and coordination processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate logs, and communicate professionally with stakeholders.

Required Education

  • Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
  • Substitution: Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis, provided the candidate has high school graduation or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
  • Experience with LEED certified projects and/or CHPS (Collaborative for High Performing Schools)
  • Experience with DSA (Division of the State Architect) construction/design process

Working Hours & Location: Full-time, exempt role with standard business hours. In addition, this is an onsite position, and Monday – Friday in Los Angeles, CA.

Compensation Range: $104,000 - $114,400 annually; Eligible for Bonus
