Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join the Satellite Site & Admin Portfolio Management (SSAPM) team within Data Center Hosting Services (DCHS). This team supports all the Network Communications Rooms within 210+ Wells Fargo administrative sites within the US.
The role is responsible for designing, implementing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting enterprise network infrastructure. Also, this role ensures reliable, secure, and high-performing network services supporting business operations across LAN, WAN, WLAN, cloud, and data center environments.
In this role, you will:
  • Lead or participate in implementing network infrastructure solutions on-site at US Wells Fargo ADMIN (non-branch) locations.
  • Manage the physical security of communications rooms as well as the production network equipment and cabling within them. When necessary, review and evaluate access requests submitted by people outside our team and make the necessary arrangements to grant the requested access.
  • Collaborate with other Wells network support teams to ensure the continuous availability of all data network services at ADMIN locations
  • Identify gaps, risks and issues of the portfolio of communications rooms and collaborate with responsible groups to remediate them
  • Partner with Technology teams to deploy and support network solutions on Corporate Properties sponsored projects with the scope to add, remodel or decommission ADMIN sites.
  • Direct and guide vendors to provide appropriate low-voltage cabling solutions (according to Wells Fargo standards) in support of Corporate Properties and Technology sponsored projects Duties can include the Layer 1 infrastructure design/lay-out communication rooms.
  • Ensure DCHS controls and policies are executed on all projects
  • Become knowledgeable when change control management is required on network deployments. Draft change controls which include installation scripts, business justification, backout plan and monitor/track the approval process. Execute deployment as documented within the change control and the stated time duration.
  • Participate and provide feedback on peer reviews of project definition documents, design of communication rooms, and multiple vendors bid reviews.
  • Review and take appropriate attestation on physical security reports and visitor logs provided by internal compliance team.
  • When called upon, investigate and remediate network capacity related issues at supported locations. Provide resolution information and work with other teams to complete impact analysis
  • Mentor and train network operations team in the installation, configuration, and maintenance
  • Partner cross-functionally with other Wells Infrastructure teams in order to continuously improve and apply standards and policies relevant to operational excellence
Required Qualifications:
  • 4+ years of Network Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of recommending/consulting and directing the deployment of low voltage cabling solutions in a corporate office environment (preferably across multiple floors).

  • Understanding of data circuit design/implementation
    • TCP/IP
    • DNS, DHCP, NTP
    • VLANs and Layer 2/Layer 3 networking
    • Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
    • Switching technologies
    • VPN technologies
    • Wireless networking (802.11)
  • Experience with:
    • Cisco, Aruba, Arista, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar platforms
    • Network monitoring and management tools
    • Cloud networking (Azure or Google Cloud)
    • SD-WAN technologies
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
    • Experience with using HPNA, Terminal Emulation tools (such as SecureCRT),
  • BICSI (Building Industry Consulting Service International) Certification
  • Cisco Certifications
  • Experience using productivity tools such as Enterprise Jira, ServiceNow, and MS Office365
  • Read/understand blueprints and construction documents. Create Visio network diagrams of technology room layouts
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to lift and install network equipment in racks and closets.
  • Ability to travel to sites as required.
  • Availability for scheduled maintenance, cutovers, and emergency support.
