ABOUT THE ROLE
The Senior Manager, Enterprise Applications (EA) is a senior operational and subject matter expert leader responsible for driving the reliability, governance, and effectiveness of MVB’s enterprise application ecosystem. This role serves as the primary operational owner of the core banking platform relationship — leading day-to-day coordination with Jack Henry, managing outages and escalations, and ensuring MVB can fully leverage its core product investments — while also carrying technical responsibility for other critical enterprise platforms and vendor integrations across the organization.
This role is accountable for managing the team’s intake and work assignment processes, maintaining application governance standards, developing and enforcing procedures, supporting audit and risk activities, and managing SharePoint based knowledge resources. The Senior Manager brings operational discipline and thought leadership that enables the EA team to operate with consistency, clarity, and defined service expectations.
This position requires a client-facing leader who thrives in ambiguity, communicates with confidence across all levels of the organization, and brings deep technical credibility in financial technology platforms. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can navigate complex vendor relationships, drive cross-functional accountability, and contribute to the team’s long-term operating model.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Serve as the primary operational subject matter expert for Jack Henry and MVB’s core banking platform — manage the day-to-day RM relationship, oversee invoice accuracy and reconciliation, support product advisory and capability exploration, and coordinate custom development requests and case escalations with Jack Henry.
- Own and manage the EA team’s intake process — receive, triage, prioritize, and assign incoming work requests; maintain visibility into team capacity and active workload; and ensure requests are properly scoped before assignment.
- Lead outage coordination and response for EA- managed applications — serve as the internal point of contact during application outages, manage stakeholder communication, facilitate resolution with vendors, and conduct post-incident reviews to prevent recurrence.
- Lead application governance and risk activities — maintain the enterprise Technology Inventory Listing (TIL), support tiering and ownership decisions, ensure audit readiness for SOX-impacted and critical applications, and escalate risk items to appropriate stakeholders in a timely manner.
- Develop, maintain, and enforce procedures, runbooks, and standard operating documentation for EA-managed applications and processes; ensure the team operates with consistent, documented standards that support audit, onboarding, and business continuity.
- Manage and maintain the EA team SharePoint sites and knowledge repositories — ensure resources are current, well-organized, and accessible to team members and partner organizations; drive adoption of shared documentation practices across the team.
- Partner with the PMO, Business Analysts, and Lines of Business to support project delivery — ensuring work efforts are properly scoped, risks are identified and escalated, and business requirements are clearly defined before execution begins.
- Co-own the SFTP and secure file transfer function — support setup, troubleshooting, and ongoing management of file transfer operations for fintech clients and internal business units; contribute to the development of intake and SLA standards for this service.
- Lead the change management and release coordination process for EA-managed applications — ensure system changes, upgrades, and releases are properly documented, communicated, and adopted across affected business units.
- Manage escalations for EA-supported vendor systems — serve as a senior escalation point for Jack Henry and other critical application issues, coordinating resolution across internal teams and external vendors while keeping stakeholders informed.
- Serve as a senior relationship manager for key vendor and third-party partnerships — maintain productive, proactive working relationships with Jack Henry and other strategic technology partners, and represent MVB’s interests in product discussions, negotiations, and issue resolution.
- Advise and enable business units on system changes, upgrades, and new workflows — ensure impacted teams are prepared and supported through application changes, and coordinate training and communication efforts in partnership with business owners.
- Contribute to the team’s long-term operating model — provide operational thought leadership on intake design, service level standards, application tiering, and team structure; actively participate in the development of EA’s strategic roadmap and support staffing and capacity planning efforts.
- Manage performance, coaching, and development of team members to foster a high-performing, collaborative work environment.
