Opportunity

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Manager of Talent Acquisition, Legal in our Washington, D.C. office. This is an exempt position and reports to the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition. The Senior Manager works closely with the Group and Business Unit Leaders to execute a national recruiting strategy with a primary focus on lateral Associate searches.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition in the creation and implementation of the annual strategic growth plan, including providing leadership and vision setting for the recruiting/sourcing strategy and approach.

  • Manage all aspects of the Firm’s recruiting efforts, from job intake through offer, with a strong focus on Associate recruiting, in addition to supporting the Director of Talent Acquisition, Lateral Partner Recruiting with Partner recruiting efforts.

  • Use a variety of search methods (i.e., search firms, internal referrals, online research tools) and creatively source candidates to target for proactive outreach.

  • Review resumes and carry out preliminary screenings with candidates, referral sources, or search firms to assess if applicants meet the hiring requirements and should be forwarded to firm leadership.

  • Schedule interviews, compile interviewer lists, collect and assess feedback, and craft evaluation summaries for leadership’s review. Serve as the main point of contact for candidates and referral sources or search firms, effectively guiding them throughout the recruitment process.

  • Research lateral target candidates and monitor sources for information about candidates, peer firms, market activity, industry trends, and other information relevant to lateral recruiting.

  • Serve as contact for lateral candidates, monitor interview schedules and act as the firm ambassador.

  • Partner with the Business Professional teams to enhance recruiting efforts.

  • Collaborate with the Marketing team to enhance firm branding for schools through quarterly newsletters, brochures, outreach emails, and website recruiting pages.

  • Manage and train recruiting staff on processes and best practices and provide work direction with clear performance expectations for accountability, professional development opportunities, and contribute to the performance review process.

  • Manage conflicts clearance process by reviewing hiring questionnaire, submitting with conflicts team to run check, identifying and elevating potential issues, reporting results to sponsoring partners and candidates and managing any needed recommendations.

  • Manage background check clearance by reviewing completed reports, identifying, elevating and resolving potential issues, reporting results to necessary parties, and managing any needed recommendations.

  • Support additional Talent Acquisition projects/assignments as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; JD preferred.

  • 8-9+ years of recruiting experience in an AmLaw firm.

  • Extensive recruiting and managerial experience required.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Exceptional relationship-building skills and client service oriented: can effectively interface with attorneys and consultants at all levels, staff, law school administrators, and recruiters.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and competing demands.

  • Must be extremely responsive to both internal and external clients.

  • Demonstrates good judgment, works collaboratively, and is a team player.

  • Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism and be able to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information/matters.

  • Strong technical and computer skills: proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel required. Experience with Greenhouse, Workday, Pirical. Leopard Solutions and/or Lawcruit a plus.

The base annual pay range for this role is between $185,000 - $220,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity. A full range of medical, financial and/or other benefits dependent on the position will also be offered.
