Job Duties and Responsibilities
Candidates must be willing to participate in at least one in-person interview.
In this role, you aren't just managing a brand from a distance; you are the leading voice for local impact and community connection across a 4,300-store footprint. You act as a grassroots organizer at scale, viewing our retail locations not as coordinates on a map, but as individual opportunities for deep community connection. By building the playbooks that empower our field teams to become local influencers, you ensure that Boost feels like a friend and the heartbeat of every community we serve rather than a faceless corporation.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives)
  • Develop the grassroots playbook that allows 4,300 stores to execute high-impact local activations, ranging from youth sports sponsorships to community festivals
  • Launch a standardized local event measurement framework within your first 90 days to quantify the impact of community presence on subscriber acquisition and brand sentiment
  • Create self-service marketing toolkits and training for field leaders and store managers to empower them to own their local market growth and drive regional relevance
  • Use localized data to identify under-penetrated neighborhoods and design custom strike team marketing plans that boost foot traffic and local market share
  • Direct the strategy for experiential marketing and community partnerships, ensuring every local touchpoint reinforces our value proposition and drives measurable lead generation
  • Lead the collaboration with creative and media agencies to produce localized assets that feel authentic to specific regions while maintaining national brand integrity
  • Manage a complex local marketing fund with a focus on achieving high ROI on every dollar spent at the neighborhood level

Skills, Experience and Requirements
Core Skills and Competencies (What you'll bring)
  • Proficiency in scaling a brand's physical footprint through community-centered strategies and event-led growth across large-scale retail environments
  • Proven ability to secure and manage high-impact local partnerships with community leaders, influencers, and regional vendors
  • Analytical expertise in translating regional ROI and market penetration data into actionable investment strategies for local market presence
  • Exceptional professional acumen in being the voice of the field at HQ, ensuring corporate campaigns are effective for the person standing behind the counter
  • Technical mastery of systems and tech-stacks necessary to manage local requests and asset distribution at a massive scale
  • Practical experience leveraging AI tools and localized digital platforms like Yext or SOCi to automate and scale the localization of marketing materials
  • Roll-up-the-sleeves mentality with a comfort level moving seamlessly from executive boardrooms to on-the-ground tent events in the community

Additional Qualifications
  • Background in field marketing, experiential branding, or regional marketing strategy for multi-unit retail or telecommunications brands
  • Experience managing large-scale event budgets and vendor networks across 1,000+ units or multiple geographic territories

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in Marketing, Field Operations, or Community Relations
  • Proven experience managing multi-unit retail footprints (telecom experience is a plus)
  • 3+ years of experience directly managing and developing a team
  • At least 5 years of experience with:
    • Local/Regional Marketing Strategy and Event Planning
    • Localized digital tools such as Yext, SOCi, or similar local SEO/social platforms
    • Marketing Analytics Platforms and CRM systems

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
