How you will make an impact:

The Senior Manager, Finance – Global Commercial will be a key member of the Clinical Sequencing Division (CSD) Finance leadership team and the lead finance partner to the Global Commercial organization. Supporting a $700M+ global commercial business, this role will help drive growth, profitability, forecasting accuracy, and strategic execution across a complex, matrixed environment.

This leader will partner closely with Global Sales, Commercial leadership, Sales Operations, Product, Marketing, CCG, and Regional Finance teams to deliver actionable financial insights, strengthen operating rigor, and improve business performance. The role combines core commercial FP&A leadership with a modern mindset around data, automation, and AI-enabled finance, helping the business move faster and make better decisions.

What you will do:

  • Lead finance support for the global commercial organization, serving as a strategic partner to commercial leadership
  • Own the global revenue forecast, including pacing, bookings, backlog, price/volume analysis, and risk and opportunity identification
  • Lead key planning processes including AOP, forecast updates, MBRs, and QBRs, ensuring alignment across regions, channels, and business partners
  • Deliver clear reporting and actionable insights on revenue, growth drivers, funnel trends, pricing, and commercial productivity
  • Partner with Sales Operations, Product, Marketing, CCG, and Regional Finance teams to improve forecast quality and drive performance
  • Support strategic initiatives through deal modeling, pricing analysis, scenario planning, and ad hoc commercial analytics
  • Standardize and improve global forecasting, reporting, and business review processes to enhance consistency, speed, and decision support
  • Leverage dashboards, digital tools, and AI-enabled finance capabilities to automate reporting, improve insight generation, and simplify manual work
  • Provide high-quality financial storytelling for Group and Corporate deliverables, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and strong linkage to business performance
  • Lead, coach, and develop team members while fostering a high-performance, collaborative culture
  • Drive continuous improvement across commercial finance processes, tools, and operating rhythms

How you will get here:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; MBA, CPA, or other advanced degree preferred

Experience

  • 8+ years of relevant finance experience, including FP&A or commercial finance in a global, matrixed environment
  • Experience supporting commercial, sales, or go-to-market organizations preferred
  • Prior people leadership experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and analytical skills
  • Strong commercial acumen and ability to connect financial results to business drivers
  • Experience with revenue forecasting, pricing, variance analysis, and performance reporting
  • Ability to work with large, complex datasets and translate data into clear business insights
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience with visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Interest in automation, digital tools, and the future of finance
  • Strong leadership, ownership, and collaboration skills aligned to Thermo Fisher Scientific’s 4I Values

Travel requirements: < 10% domestic/international travel required

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $130,000.00–$190,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
