Our digital rental application offers a safe and seamless way to apply and get approved for your next home. We specialize in developing software and services for property managers nationwide, empowering them to deliver exceptional service to renters, while evaluating applications with unmatched speed and precision.

The Team

The core function of the Finance team is to ensure seamless financial and accounting operations of the business. Beyond the traditional day-to-day responsibilities typical in finance and accounting, the team plays a pivotal role in providing the foundation for strategic planning across the business via the financial model. This role will touch all areas of the business and collaborate closely with leadership to drive data-driven decision-making and thoughtful optimization of our resources.

The Role

We are looking for someone to lead the Finance function who can immediately be trusted with business-critical operational activities and will also be able to dive into nuances of each function. A strong toolkit as an individual contributor willing to get their hands dirty in day to day operations with the ability to pick up new skills quickly is imperative. Direction will be ambiguous at times, so there is room for creativity, problem solving and ownership. Fundamentally, the role is dedicated to understanding our business operations and performance from a quantitative perspective and identifying areas of opportunity to improve.

Where you will make an impact:

  • Responsible for maintaining and enhancing the financial model.
  • Bring a data-driven approach to resource allocation across the organization.
  • Help create a sophisticated understanding of unit economics to drive high ROI decision-making.
  • Lead weekly business reviews and contribute to Board Meeting materials in support of the Executive team.
  • Responsible for accounts payable/receivable operations and other cash-management activities.
  • Oversee outside accounting and tax firms.
  • Manage expense policies and execution of employee programs.
  • Build clear communication and influence decision-making within groups and leadership audiences

We’d love to hear from you if you have:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in financial roles (e.g. banking, consulting, FP&A, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (Finance, Accounting, Economics or something similar).
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and PowerPoint/Google Slides.
  • Basic proficiency in SQL or other database language.
  • Experience with a data visualization tool (Looker, Tableau, Thoughtspot or something similar).
  • Willingness to embrace unstructured environments and problems.
  • Excellent analytical, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and presenting information to key decision-makers

Nice-to-haves:

  • High index on “hustle and grit” attributes.
  • Startup experience.
  • Accounting experience, degree, CPA.
  • Experience with Python, R, or VBA.
  • Experience with company-wide planning exercises and Board presentations

What we offer:

  • Location: We operate on a hybrid schedule, with in-office days at our newly renovated NoHo office.
  • Mission-Driven Culture: A balanced, collaborative, and high-impact workplace.
  • Competitive Compensation: Competitive base salary + Pre-IPO equity.
  • Generous Time Off: Unlimited PTO with a minimum of two weeks required, mental health Fridays once a month, and holidays.
  • Wellness Perks: Health benefits, 401(k) matching up to 5%, monthly gym stipend, and lunch provided every day + snacks for days.

Like our users we come from a wide variety of backgrounds. Diversity, inclusion and being open to learning constantly means we have and hire great people. Diversity and inclusion make our team, our culture and our work stronger: we’re committed to continuing this as we grow. We are an equal opportunity employer and as such all applicants will be considered based solely upon merit and directly relevant professional competencies.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
