Create Music Group is a global music company headquartered in Los Angeles, with a growing portfolio of labels, catalogs, and joint ventures across North America, Europe, and Asia. We invest in and partner with creative teams worldwide to preserve, scale, and modernize iconic and emerging music catalogs.

As we continue our global expansion and acquisition strategy, we are seeking an experienced and highly technical Head of Financial Systems to lead the evolution of our financial technology ecosystem. This role will be instrumental in building a scalable, best-in-class systems architecture that standardizes our global financial processes, improves data visibility, and seamlessly integrates newly acquired entities into our core operations.

The Senior Manager, Finance Systems will play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between Finance, Accounting, Data Engineering, and Operations. By leading the integration of our NetSuite ERP with connected platforms across payroll, royalties, and FP&A, as well as spearheading the implementation of new solutions (i.e. procurement), you will ensure our financial infrastructure is robust, automated, and fully equipped to support Create Music Group’s next phase of exponential growth.

Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Finance Systems will own and lead Create Music Group’s global financial systems ecosystem, with primary responsibility for NetSuite ERP and all connected platforms across accounting, FP&A, payroll, royalties, treasury, and data infrastructure.

This role sits at the intersection of Finance, Accounting, Data/Engineering, and Operations, and is critical to ensuring that financial systems are scalable, integrated, and aligned with the company’s rapid growth and acquisition strategy. You will be responsible for designing and maintaining a best-in-class systems architecture that supports accurate financial reporting, efficient operations, and robust internal controls.

This is a highly operational and technical finance role. You will not only oversee system performance, but also lead integration of acquired entities, drive automation, and ensure that global financial processes (including non-U.S. operations) are standardized where appropriate while remaining compliant with local requirements.

Responsibilities

Financial Systems Ownership & Strategy

  • Own the end-to-end financial systems architecture, with NetSuite as the core ERP, and responsibility for all upstream and downstream integrations
  • Drive system strategy, roadmap, and prioritization in alignment with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, and executive leadership
  • Lead the evaluation, selection, and end-to-end implementation of a modern procurement and spend approval platform (e.g., Zip) to streamline purchasing, vendor onboarding, and AP workflows
  • Own and enhance the financial system architecture between our CRM (Salesforce), royalties accounting systems and NetSuite ERP, ensuring seamless data flow, accurate revenue recognition, and an optimized contract to cash lifecycle
  • Ensure systems are scalable, reliable, and capable of supporting a high volume of transactions, complex royalty flows, and multi-entity operations
  • Act as the primary point of accountability for financial systems performance, data integrity, and uptime

Systems Integration and Architecture

  • Lead integration of all connected financial systems, including payroll (Rippling), AP/Payments (Tipalti), close management (FloQast), FP&A (Planful), and royalty platforms (Label Engine and CreateOS, Curve, Fuga, etc.)
  • Partner with Data & Engineering to ensure seamless data flow across systems, including ingestion, transformation, and reporting layers
  • Identify and resolve system gaps, redundancies, and inefficiencies across the financial tech stack
  • Establish and maintain a clean, well-documented systems architecture and data governance framework

M&A Integration and Global Expansion

  • Lead financial systems diligence for acquisitions, including assessment of target company systems, data quality, and integration complexity
  • Develop and execute post-acquisition integration plans to migrate acquired entities onto NetSuite and the broader CMG systems ecosystem
  • Ensure timely and accurate onboarding of new entities, including chart of accounts mapping, data migration, and process alignment
  • Partner with Accounting and local operators to understand and reconcile differences in accounting standards (U.S. GAAP vs. local GAAP/IFRS) and operational practices
  • Design and configure system architectures (e.g., NetSuite Multi-Book) to support dual reporting requirements for U.S. GAAP and local IFRS/GAAP as appropriate
  • Support multi-currency, multi-entity, and cross-border reporting requirements

Financial Operations Optimization

  • Partner with Accounting to optimize core financial processes including procure-to-pay, order-to-cash, record-to-report, and royalties accounting workflows
  • Drive reduction in close timelines and improvement in data accuracy through automation and system enhancements
  • Identify and implement process improvements across financial workflows, reducing manual effort and operational risk
  • Ensure alignment between financial systems and actual business operations, including royalties, advances, and artist payments

Data Integrity, Reporting and FP&A Enablement

  • Partner with FP&A to ensure accurate, timely, and structured financial data flows into planning and reporting tools
  • Enable development of scalable reporting frameworks, dashboards, and KPI tracking across finance and operations
  • Ensure consistency between transactional data, financial reporting, and forecasting systems
  • Serve as a key liaison between Finance and Data to translate business requirements into system and data solutions

Internal Controls

  • Partner with Accounting to design, implement and manage IT General Controls (ITGCs) as it relates to financial systems and automated controls
  • Design and implement scalable internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), embedded within system workflows
  • Partner with Accounting, auditors, and external advisors to ensure audit readiness and compliance
  • Lead remediation efforts for control deficiencies, with a focus on sustainable, system-driven solutions
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance the control environment in a fast-scaling, multi-entity business

Systems Implementation & Continuous Improvement

  • Lead system implementations, upgrades, and enhancements across the financial stack
  • Evaluate new tools and technologies to improve efficiency, automation, and scalability
  • Drive adoption of best practices in ERP design, financial systems architecture, and integration methodologies
  • Establish strong documentation, training, and change management processes across finance systems

Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Build and lead a high-performing financial systems team over time
  • Partner closely with Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, HR, Legal, and Data/Engineering teams
  • Act as a bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment and execution
  • Foster a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • 8 - 10+ years of experience in financial systems, accounting operations, or finance transformation roles
  • Deep, hands-on expertise with NetSuite ERP, including multi-entity and multi-currency environments
  • Experience with middleware or integration platforms (e.g., Celigo, Dell Boomi, Workato, or NetSuite SuiteTalk, etc.)
  • Proven experience managing and integrating financial systems in a high-growth and acquisitive company
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end financial workflows (AP, AR, GL, close, consolidation)
  • Experience integrating and managing systems such as Tipalti, Rippling, FloQast, and FP&A tools like Planful
  • Strong familiarity with Salesforce (especially Salesforce-to-NetSuite integrations), and modern Procure-to-Pay (P2P) software (e.g., Zip, Coupa, Airbase) is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with music industry systems and royalty accounting platforms (e.g., Fuga, Curve, or similar) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience leading M&A system integrations, including data migration and process standardization
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, with working knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP considerations
  • Experience building or operating within a SOX-compliant environment, including ICFR design and testing
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work across finance, technical, and operational teams

Pay Scale

  • $150,000 - $170,000 per year
  • The final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
