The Company’s three core products are Snapchat, a visual messaging app that enhances your relationships with friends, family, and the world; Lens Studio, an augmented reality platform that powers AR across Snapchat and other services; and its AR glasses, Spectacles.

The Marketing team at Snap articulates and brings to life who we are as a brand, why we exist, who we serve, and what value we have to offer. They are on a mission to build a best-in-class international marketing organization. With functions spanning creative and marketing, strategy, consumer insights, and marketing operations, the team enables and activates marketing initiatives across the entire Snap Inc. ecosystem.

We’re looking for a Senior Manager, Developer Marketing to lead our global strategy for engaging and growing Snap’s developer community—particularly those building AR experiences with Lens Studio and Spectacles. This is a high-impact leadership role focused on driving platform adoption, retention, and advocacy among technical and creative developers.

You’ll lead a small but mighty team, and operate as a key cross-functional connector across Product Marketing, Developer Relations, Comms, Content, Product, and Regional teams. You’ll shape our developer narrative, scale community-first programs, and lead global campaigns that inspire and activate creators building on Snap AR. This role reports to the Global Director of Developer Marketing and plays a key part in Snap’s AR strategy.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead Developer Marketing Strategy: Set the global vision, roadmap, and priorities for developer marketing—scaling programs that drive ecosystem growth, engagement, and long-term value for Snap AR.

  • People Management: Manage and mentor a high-performing team. Guide career growth, drive clarity, and build an inclusive and inspiring team culture.

  • Own Developer Campaigns End-to-End: Lead the strategy and execution of integrated, global campaigns—from concept to launch—across product GTM, evergreen programs, and community engagement.

  • Champion the Developer Voice: Embed authentic developer and creator insights into marketing strategies, content, and experiences. Operate as a key advocate across Snap.

  • Partner Across Snap: Collaborate deeply with Product Marketing, DevRel, Comms, Insights, and Regional teams to ensure messaging, storytelling, and product positioning resonate with our audience.

  • Drive Global Consistency: Develop playbooks, toolkits, and frameworks to standardize how we market to and with developers worldwide—across channels, surfaces, and partners.

  • Manage External Partners: Oversee social and creative agencies focused on developer campaigns, always-on social, and content strategy. Ensure high-quality execution and innovation.

  • Measure, Optimize, Scale: Define success metrics, measure campaign performance, and continuously iterate based on insights. Bring a test-and-learn mindset to everything we do.

  • Lead with Innovation: Stay ahead of developer trends, platforms, and community behaviors. Identify new opportunities to drive cultural relevance and differentiate Snap’s AR ecosystem.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in marketing, including 4+ years focused on developer, platform, or technical marketing.

  • 2+ years managing teams and leading cross-functional workstreams.

  • Deep experience building programs that resonate with creative and technical audiences—especially within AR, AI, gaming, or open platforms.

  • Proven strategic leader with the ability to anticipate challenges, synthesize complex inputs, and drive clear, high-impact decisions across functions and geographies.

  • Deep passion for developer ecosystems and a forward-looking perspective on creative technology, AR/VR/XR, and the future of spatial computing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience building and scaling community or ambassador programs for developers.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity.

  • Data-driven decision maker with strong analytical and strategic thinking.

  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills—comfortable as an internal and external spokesperson.

  • Passion for technology, innovation, and empowering creative communities.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
