JOB DESCRIPTION:

Driven Brand’s Take 5 Oil Change group is looking for a Driven Senior Manager, Design who wants to make a difference!

This is a role for someone who can think like a brand builder, design like an artist, and execute like an operator.

Reporting to the VP of Marketing and supporting our Take 5 Oil Change segment, this role is responsible for bringing our brand voice to life inside the bay, and throughout our customer journey.

This role will ensure every consumer touchpoint tells the Take 5 story with clarity, simplicity, and humanity. From in-bay signage and service storytelling to pre-opening readiness and retail kits, this role transforms spaces into experiences that connect emotionally and drive conversion.

How you will Own It:
  • Bring the Brand to Life Inside the Bay – Own the look, feel, and storytelling across the customer experience - from exterior signage to in-bay communication and service cues that turn a ten-minute oil change into a brand moment.

  • Design & Create – Concept, design, and produce in-house creative work including retail signage, POP, promotional kits, CRM templates, and operational communications.

  • Grand Opening Readiness – Partner with Real Estate, Construction, and Field Marketing to ensure every new shop opens on-brand, on-time, and fully merchandised.

  • Brand Experience Standards – Develop and maintain the Take 5 design: wayfinding, visual hierarchy, typography, and tone that create clarity and confidence for customers.

  • Copywriting & Creative Storytelling – Write sharp, brand-right copy that brings our “Fast. Friendly. Simple.” promise to life in a voice that’s approachable, human, and unmistakably Take 5.

  • B2B & B2C Creative Partner – Support key internal communications, franchisee toolkits, and partner activations with design and messaging that are clear, engaging, and on-brand.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Partner with the Senior Director of Field Marketing and VP of Integrated Marketing to ensure local and national creative align seamlessly.

  • Operational Enablement – Build templates, toolkits, and creative playbooks that empower field teams and franchisees to execute with consistency and pride.

What you’ll Bring:
  • 6+ years of experience in visual merchandising, retail design, or brand experience (multi-unit retail preferred).

  • A portfolio that shows both creative excellence and operational practicality — clear, simple, and strategic design that drives action.

  • Hands-on design skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign required).

  • Proven ability to write smart, engaging copy that reflects brand tone.

  • Strong understanding of wayfinding, environmental design, and customer flow in service environments.

  • Experience collaborating with field teams, vendors, and agency partners to deliver consistent execution at scale.

  • A blend of big-picture creativity and “roll-up-your-sleeves” execution.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

Applicants for our positions are considered without regard to race, ethnicity, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, disability, religion, military or veteran status, or any other characteristics protected by law.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
