About the Job

Epic’s Sr. Mgr, Content Production and Operations, is a highly impactful leader who keeps content on track for the company. This meaningful role oversees a team that edits, designs, schedules, and uploads content. A key advisor for the VP of Content, this is a meaningful position that shapes the overall Content road map; the successful execution of this team underpins success for the wider company.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategically drive the company’s content shared services to become a new center of excellence with optimized costs, automation of processes, improved operational efficiency, and best in class book production quality
• Effectively manage an India-based Content Operations team and manage benchmarks such as title uploads by month, backlog improvement and output by team member
• Support Operations Manager in communicating directly with external partners, particularly when issues arise
• Run Studio and Original book production teams with 4+ direct reports and multiple freelancers by setting annual publication plan, budget, and resource requirements
• Guide creative leaders to bring ideas to fruition within set parameters
• Communicate routinely with business leaders at Epic on progress, risks and opportunities
• Create shareable documentation for the entire company that provides clarity on current capabilities
• Plan and monitor annual budget
• Maintain database integrity and provide user support
• Manage print publishing partnerships, providing options for future print books, reviewing foreign-language publishing proposals, and communicating to staff all necessary information, such as specs, pagination/signature requirements, metadata needs, and delivery dates
• Participate in development brainstorms, such as interactive initiatives and creative concepts for IP characters and stories

What kind of person are we looking for?

• 10+ years of experience, 5+ in a similar role
• BA/BS or equivalent
• Must have book production experience
• Knowledgeable about BISAC codes, ISBNS, and metadata
• General understanding of how digital content is uploaded
• Able to deliver releases that are aligned with time and budget projections
• Ability to explain complicated concepts in business terms
• Expert at real time troubleshooting
• Exemplary executor who is adept at managing a team of executors
• Strong analytical skills; comfortable wielding data and financials to make decisions; comfortable owning a P&L and working directly with Finance to plan quarterly
• Embodies company values as a team manager
• Open-minded and willing to pivot mid-project based on new information

Compensation: $120,000 to $150,000 annually (including base salary and performance-based bonus), flexible depending on experience and fit.
