Job Summary:

 

The Senior Manager, Commercial Training & Development will lead commercial training for Cristcot’s first ulcerative colitis therapy launch. You will design and execute the commercial training strategy in alignment with brand priorities, ensuring customer facing teams are skilled, knowledgeable, and compliant in a highly regulated environment. You will partner with Sales, Marketing, Market Access, and external partners to develop scalable training curricula, lead new hire onboarding, and manage the commercial learning management system and key training vendors. You will own the commercial training roadmap and serve as the primary point of contact for all commercial training needs. To succeed in this role, you bring strong communication and facilitation skills, the ability to translate strategy into clear training plans, simplify complex topics, and develop actionable recommendations that address challenges and mitigate risks.

 

Primary Relationships:

 

  • Within Cristcot, the Sr. Manager, Commercial Training & Development will collaborate closely across all areas of Cristcot’s Commercial organization (Sales, Marketing, Market Access, etc.) with an emphasis on helping develop and deliver field training, while also ensuring our training is effectively executed by our teams in front of our customers.
  • Outside Cristcot, the Sr. Manager, Commercial Training & Development will build strategic relationships with outside vendors to create and deliver adult learning courses.  

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

 

The Senior Manager, Commercial Training & Development will be responsible for designing, coordinating, and implementing comprehensive training programs that enhance the skills and knowledge of employees. This role involves assessing training needs, creating educational materials, and evaluating the effectiveness of training sessions to ensure the workforce is well-equipped with industry regulations, product knowledge, and healthcare standards.

 

The Activities of the Senior Manager, Commercial Training & Development will include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Partner with commercial leaders to identify capability gaps, including for underserved and culturally diverse patient populations, and translate these into clear training needs and curricula that build product, disease state, selling, and account management skills.
  • Design and deliver foundational and advanced skills training that strengthen customers facing execution and competitive differentiation.
  • Collaborate with senior sales leadership and Marketing to define objectives for national and regional meetings, develop sales meeting content, design workshops and agendas, and manage timelines.
  • Work with internal and external partners to develop or source high quality training content and solutions.
  • Implement and manage the commercial learning management system, including content upload and testing, user group setup, and reporting.
  • Monitor and track completion of all commercial training requirements.
  • Maintain all training materials through regular review and revision, ensuring only current, approved content is in use.
  • Lead commercial onboarding for new hires through role specific learning paths for field and home office teams, supported by job aids and coaching guides.
  • Facilitate live and virtual training sessions and presentations for commercial leadership and field teams.
  • Develop and run train-the-trainer programs to ensure consistent delivery of training content.
  • Oversee ongoing training initiatives, including needs assessments, impact/ROI reviews, and planned content refresh cycles, to keep training relevant and effective.
  • Create scalable processes to capture, organize, and share lessons learned, using field feedback and simple knowledge sharing mechanisms to spread best practices.
  • Partner with commercial leaders at a strategic level to align training plans and communications with commercial priorities across teams.

 

Skills and Qualifications:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • 8+ years of experience in the pharma or biotech industry, including at least 4 years focused on commercial training, learning and development, or commercial excellence.
  • Possess a process-oriented mindset to ensure Training records and procedures are kept compliant.
  • Recent product launch experience.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and vendors in a fast-paced environment.
    Experience designing and facilitating training for remote field-based teams.
  • A strong team player that has a partnership and collaboration mindset and is solution oriented.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Priority consideration will be given to applicants who reside within the Central and Eastern time zones.
  • Travel > 40%
