About Peppr

Peppr gives independent restaurants the POS and ordering solutions built for how they actually work. We focus on solving real problems owners face every day, from managing the dinner rush to driving more sales through digital channels. Running a restaurant is hard enough without fighting your technology. That’s why we handle setup and launch, so restaurants can focus on their guests and grow their business faster. Join us on our journey to transform the restaurant experience, one transaction at a time.

About the Role

We’re looking for a Senior Local SEO Strategist to build scalable, automated systems that help thousands of restaurants grow their local visibility and revenue through channels like Google, Yelp, and TripAdvisor.

In this high-impact role, you’ll develop frameworks, playbooks, and automation that transform Local SEO into a repeatable growth engine embedded within the Peppr platform. You’ll collaborate with marketing, product, and engineering to deliver measurable gains in local discovery metrics and make SEO a core part of how Peppr merchants attract and convert customers at scale.

What You’ll Do
  • Define scalable Local SEO frameworks that standardize processes, templates, and metrics across hundreds or thousands of restaurant listings.

  • Productize Local SEO workflows by translating insights into repeatable tools, dashboards, and systems (e.g., GBP data sync, keyword clustering, automated content generation).

  • Design localized keyword strategies aligned with city-, cuisine-, and intent-based search behaviors (“best tacos in Pasadena,” “Thai restaurant near me,” etc.) to drive discovery traffic and conversions.

  • Lead cross-platform optimization efforts to improve merchant visibility across Google Business Profiles, Yelp, TripAdvisor, and other local discovery platforms.

  • Develop monitoring and reporting systems (e.g., Looker, Metabase, GA4) to track rankings, map views, and “near me” performance, driving continuous improvement month over month.

  • Run structured SEO experiments to validate and scale strategies related to GBP optimization, schema automation, and local landing page performance.

  • Create enablement and training materials for internal teams (sales, onboarding, operations) to ensure scalable SEO hygiene and best practices.

  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to integrate SEO automation directly into Peppr’s platform, embedding local optimization into the product experience.

Qualifications
  • 5+ years of SEO experience, including at least 2 years focused on Local or multi-location SEO at scale.

  • Proven success designing or scaling Local SEO systems for restaurants, retail, or franchise networks.

  • Experience building or influencing SEO automation or tooling.

  • Fluency in Chinese is required.

  • Deep understanding of GBP optimization, NAP consistency, structured data, and citation management.

  • Proficient in SEO analytics tools (e.g., GA4, GSC, Ahrefs, BrightLocal, Yext).

  • Strong data-driven mindset with the ability to turn insights into scalable frameworks.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills across marketing, product, and engineering teams.

  • Experience in SaaS or platform environments, where SEO is embedded in the product lifecycle.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
