Job Summary:

Ruggable is seeking a Senior Lifestyle and Interiors Photographer to join our in-house production team. The Photographer will support the Marketing team to capture high quality imagery with elevated aesthetics. The role requires an experienced professional with strong skills in lighting, composition, art direction, and talent direction. The ideal candidate is a seasoned expert in both interior and lifestyle photography with an ability to visually communicate creative ideas and proven experience developing photography direction for brands. Ruggable is based in Gardena, CA and the job requires someone who lives in the Los Angeles area.

What You’ll Do:

  • Own the creation of interior, lifestyle, and product photography for Ruggable marketing and ecommerce stakeholders multiple times per week.
  • Collaborate with art directors and creative leadership to understand campaign objectives, creative vision, and stakeholder needs. Develop concepts and mood boards to guide the visual direction of each project.
  • Demonstrate strong photographic techniques, lighting and composition principles and a creative aesthetic to ensure all images meet standards for brand integrity and quality.
  • Present visual direction to stakeholders, partners, and external agencies.
  • Partner with the production team to identify suitable locations for photo shoots based on project requirements and client preferences. Conduct location scouts to assess lighting conditions, spatial layout, and potential challenges, and make recommendations for optimal shoot locations.
  • Create the photo shot list and shoot schedule; partner with video production, when needed, to ensure appropriate synergy across photo/video shoots.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of photography equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting, and accessories. Ensure all gear is properly calibrated, functional, and ready for use during photoshoots.
  • Lead CaptureOne editing sessions with partners and stakeholders to ensure seamless handoff to post-production team.
  • Establish brand photography standards for style, quality, lighting, depth, composition, storytelling, and capture workflows.
  • Stay curious and informed about emerging trends, techniques, and technologies in photography, interior design, and lifestyle branding. 

What You’ll Need to Have:

Required:

  • 7+ years of editorial-level photography — in-house brand or creative agency 
  • Demonstrated experience in architecture, interiors and lifestyle photography as well as experience with conceptual still-life, portrait, and documentary photography
  • Excellent planning and organization skills; attention to detail and ability to anticipate needs. Ability to manage multiple photography projects simultaneously and to effectively align stakeholders, stylists, talent, and crew
  • Willing to travel and attend shoots, domestic and international
  • Must have a strong portfolio showcasing your ability to capture the depth and character of interior spaces, candid and natural lifestyle scenes, as well as the rich details of products and textiles
  • Must have a keen eye for aesthetics and design as well as experience in pre-visualization and lighting diagrams
  • Expert Proficiency in CaptureOne, Adobe Photoshop, and photography lighting
  • Working knowledge of G Suite, Adobe Suite, and Frame.io
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred:

  • Prior experience in project management and knowledge of Asana

Compensation:

  • $120,000 - $135,000 per year base salary
  • An annual bonus percentage that varies based on level of role
  • Employer matching (up to 3% of base salary) for company sponsored 401K plan
