Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Lead Commercial Loan Closing Specialist for the Capital Finance Lending Fulfillment Line of Business. The Senior Lead within Capital Finance Operations will serve as a strategic leader supporting Loan Closing, Central ABL Portfolio Support (Onboarding and Modifications), and Deposit Account Control Agreement (DACA) operations. This role is responsible for driving cross-functional initiatives, aligning operational execution with organizational priorities, and ensuring consistent support across multiple business functions within Capital Finance Operations.
In this highly visible position, the Senior Lead will partner with senior leaders and key stakeholders to execute strategic priorities, influence operational outcomes, and identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and client experience. The role requires strong business acumen, the ability to navigate complex operational challenges, and a focus on delivering sustainable solutions that support business growth and risk management objectives.
The Senior Lead will also provide subject matter expertise for Lending Fulfillment operations, leading efforts to resolve complex issues, manage escalations, and respond to high-priority executive and business inquiries. Additionally, the role will play a critical part in developing operational capability through training, knowledge transfer, and guidance to support evolving business needs, regulatory requirements, and organizational change.
This position requires exceptional relationship management, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence outcomes across a broad stakeholder network while driving excellence in operational execution.

In this role, you will:
- Review highly complex loan documentation
- Advise on complex onboarding of new and loan modifications for Capital Finance Asset Based Lending (ABL) clients on the LUCAS loan system
- Advise on access request issues in the Wells Fargo CEO portal
- Interact with cross-functional leaders including underwriting, portfolio, legal (in-house and external), collateral analysts, deal closing, letters of credit, tax reporting, operational risk, and loan servicing teams
- Assist in efforts to create, update, and/or certify team procedures, job aids, and user guides
- Participate in UAT and BCP testing events
- Become subject matter expert on all lines of business and provide guidance to other team members
- Support reduction of outstanding regulatory deliverables by executing against milestones and continue to strengthen risk and control infrastructure
- Complete monthly metrics reporting
- Identify themes and trends in metrics to improve team accuracy and identify subjects for refresher training
- Partner with upstream and downstream stakeholders to ensure requests are completed timely and accurately
- Assist with operational adjustment research and reporting, including identification of prevention measures
- 7+ years of Commercial Loan Closing experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- Asset Based Lending experience
- Degree in Finance, Business, Economics or Law preferred
- Paralegal and/or finance experience
- Strong understanding of LUCAS (Loan Underwriting Collateral Analysis System) and CLIC (Client Loan Information Criteria) application or similar systems
- Proficient in reading and understanding complex loan documentation and/or credit agreements
- Deep understanding of ABL cash management and Deposit Account Control Agreements
- Project Management experience
- Demonstrated organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
- Demonstrated leadership skills including relationship building, partnering and collaboration skills with clear ability to influence, gain buy-in and negotiate with a diverse group of key business partners/stakeholders including senior leaders
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail with ability to draw conclusions and translate findings
- Proven experience working in Agile project environment
- Experience with AI applications and implementation
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
- Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft 365, especially Word, Excel and Outlook
- This position will work standard business hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
- This position will work a hybrid schedule - 3 days in office, 2 remote
