Walters Wholesale Electric Company, An affiliate of USESI, is seeking a highly motivated individual with strong electrical skills to join our Energy Management Division.

Location: Brea, CA - Hybrid

 

Overview:

This division focuses on comprehensive energy measures, with a primary emphasis on electrical systems, lighting, and solar technologies, and provides support for contractors and ESCOs. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of these core technologies and the ability to specify products and assemble pricing. For specialized systems such as switchgear, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and EV charging, our dedicated specialty department will provide additional support for product specification, and pricing. This role is crucial in interfacing with customers, processing orders, and supporting outside sales personnel to ensure customer success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process telephone and email orders by quoting product prices, delivery specifications, and payment terms, while suggesting substitute products when appropriate.
  • Assist outside sales personnel by prioritizing and processing urgent transactions.
  • Specify products and assemble pricing for electrical systems, lighting, and solar technologies, and maintain a working knowledge of switchgear, BESS, and EV charging.
  • Collaborate with the specialty department for switchgear, BESS, and EV charging specifications and pricing when necessary.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, and ESCO partners, providing technical information and guidance.
  • Manage job quotes and open orders, following up as needed to ensure accuracy and customer satisfaction.
  • Participate in training to maintain up-to-date knowledge of products, vendors, and industry trends.
  • Continuously seek improvements in internal operations and customer service processes.
  • Maintain accurate and current sales queues, quotes, and documentation.
  • Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by management after successful completion of training.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in technical sales, inside sales, or a related role, preferably focused on energy management or electrical products.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, lighting, solar technologies, and energy efficiency measures, with the ability to specify products and assemble pricing.
  • Working knowledge of switchgear, BESS (Battery Energy Storage Systems), and EV charging systems, with the ability to collaborate with specialty departments for technical support.
  • A high school diploma is required; additional certifications or education in electrical engineering, energy management, or related fields are strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Solar (Eclipse) or similar platforms is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and best practices for electrical, lighting, solar, and energy management products.
  • Strong sales and customer service skills, with a customer-first, solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain technical information to customers and coworkers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word) and comfortable learning new vendor products and software.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and ask for support when necessary.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet tight deadlines, and work well under pressure while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive team player, dependable, and punctual, focused on helping customers and supporting coworkers.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport materials up to 25 lbs regularly, and occasionally more as needed.
