NVE is a brand experience and production agency dedicated to building ideas rooted in culture and guided by the principle that ‘The Right Moment Will Transform Someone Forever.’ NVE’s team of creatives, strategists and producers develop insight-driven ideas rooted in culture to convert consumer attention into commitment, action, and brand loyalty.

Summary of Position:

As a Senior Graphic Designer at NVE, you will play a critical role in shaping the visual expression of brand experiences for some of the world's biggest, boldest, and most beloved brands.

This role is intended for experienced designers who possess exceptional craft, strong creative instincts, and the ability to independently drive complex design work from concept through execution. You will collaborate closely with creative, strategy, production, and client teams to develop thoughtful, culturally relevant work that bridges the gap between creative intent and real-world impact.

At NVE, Senior Graphic Designers are trusted design leaders within the studio. They help elevate the quality of the work, contribute meaningfully to creative development, mentor more junior designers, and serve as stewards of craft across projects and teams.

While this role primarily operates within larger multidisciplinary teams, Senior Graphic Designers are also capable of independently leading appropriately scaled design opportunities, guiding visual development from concept through execution while maintaining NVE's standards of creativity, quality, and innovation.

Role Priorities:

  • Lead the design and development of visual systems, assets, and graphic applications across a range of brand experiences and campaigns
  • Independently drive complex design work from concept development through final execution, balancing creativity, craft, and practicality
  • Help translate creative concepts into cohesive visual expressions across physical and digital touchpoints
  • Contribute strategic design thinking and visual problem-solving throughout the creative process
  • Present design work to internal teams and clients, clearly articulating creative rationale, design decisions, and visual direction
  • Collaborate closely with creatives, strategists, producers, fabricators, and external partners to ensure successful implementation of design intent
  • Lead the visual development of select small-scale projects and workstreams
  • Maintain and elevate standards of craft, consistency, and attention to detail across all phases of project development
  • Serve as a mentor and resource for more junior designers, providing thoughtful feedback, guidance, and support
  • Actively participate in critiques, creative discussions, and collaborative working sessions that strengthen the broader Design Studio
  • Explore and advocate for new approaches, emerging technologies, and evolving design practices—including AI-supported workflows—to help advance the work and studio
  • Develop a strong understanding of client brands, business objectives, and experiential goals to ensure design solutions are both creatively compelling and strategically effective
  • Participate in onsite installations and live experiences as opportunities arise, helping ensure the integrity of the design vision
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, collaboration, experimentation, and craft

Qualifications:

  • You have a portfolio that demonstrates exceptional design craft, strong conceptual thinking, and an ability to create compelling visual systems across a variety of mediums and live experiences
  • You embody NVE's behaviors — be courageous, be committed, be curious, be catalysts, and be good citizens
  • You are highly proficient in industry-standard design tools (Adobe Creative Suite required; familiarity with motion, 3D, Figma and AI-supported workflows is strongly preferred)
  • You actively explore emerging creative technologies and understand how tools like AI can expand creative possibilities and improve workflows
  • You possess excellent visual communication skills and are comfortable presenting work and creative rationale to both internal teams and clients
  • You can independently manage complex projects and competing priorities while maintaining a high standard of quality and attention to detail
  • You have proven experience in quality controlling the print production process & onsite graphic installation
  • You have a strong point of view and creative conviction, balanced with humility, collaboration, and openness to feedback
  • You are passionate about mentoring others and helping elevate the quality of work across the broader studio
  • You are a lifelong student of creativity, culture, and design — and it shows
  • You have at least 6 years of experience working as a professional designer

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
