NVIDIA's Developer Tools team is seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to create high-quality visualization experiences for profiling services. This role combines frontend product engineering with browser performance and large-data visualization. You will help make complex technical data understandable, responsive, and accessible. The role offers room to bring deeper expertise in interaction architecture or performance-critical rendering.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Build intuitive browser experiences that help engineers explore and understand complex performance data.

  • Create reusable visualization and interaction patterns that remain consistent across product workflows.

  • Integrate high-performance visualization technologies into a maintainable frontend application.

  • Improve responsiveness and memory efficiency for large and complex datasets.

  • Deliver accessible, resilient experiences across supported browsers, devices, and application states.

  • Partner with backend, product, design, and quality teams to ship and validate complete user workflows.

What we need to see:

  • BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 8+ years of software development experience, including substantial production work with TypeScript and modern component-based browser applications.

  • Deep expertise in reusable interaction architecture or performance-critical browser visualization, plus demonstrated ability across the adjacent area; mastery of every framework and graphics technology is not expected.

  • Experience building frontend systems in which multiple views coordinate through clear component and state contracts.

  • Experience building interactive data visualizations with a charting or graphics library and profiling behavior on large datasets.

  • Hands-on work with at least one browser rendering technology and practical experience diagnosing frame-time or memory problems.

  • Working knowledge of integrating browser and native or WebAssembly code, including loading and failure behavior.

  • Strong knowledge of responsive design, accessibility, browser compatibility, and automated frontend testing.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience building timeline, flame-graph, trace, profiler, or observability user interfaces.

  • Production experience with React and atom-based or comparable observable state management.

  • Familiarity with moving expensive rendering or data preparation off the main thread and loading large datasets progressively.

  • Experience isolating third-party visualization engines or coordinating server data with interactive client state.

  • Background in GPU computing, developer tools, or real-time collaborative analytical products.

Your base salary will be determined based on your location, experience, and the pay of employees in similar positions. The base salary range is 168,000 USD - 270,250 USD.

You will also be eligible for equity and benefits.

Applications for this job will be accepted at least until August 1, 2026.

This posting is for an existing vacancy.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
