We are seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to create reliable C/C++ code for our next generation Battery Management System. You will work alongside hardware and other software engineers to design, implement, debug, and deploy firmware modules and packages to the various controllers in our product.

Responsibilities 
    • Derive software specifications and design features based on product requirements to meet UL 1998 and UL 5500 standards
    • Create C/C++ embedded modules for hardware sensor and actuator controls.
    • Write hardware self-test code and procedure to support hardware bring-up and End-of-line manufacturing software.
    • Develop microcontroller firmware for embedded systems, sensors, and power fl ow control circuitry for our Battery Management System (BMS) 
    • Contribute to the unit and integration testing suite, and coordinate with the system and test team, to allow continuous delivery of high-quality firmware
    • Support product deployment and fi eld activities, including troubleshooting and debugging firmware in fi eld environments to ensure performance and reliability
    • Write robust, maintainable, and well-documented embedded code that adheres to industry best practices. 
    • Lead complex software debugging efforts to identify and resolve performance bottlenecks and system defects. 
    • Drive adherence to formal software development processes, including version control, code reviews, and compliance documentation.

Required Qualifications 
    • 3-5 plus years of firmware experience for embedded and RTOS systems for battery management and/or power electronics 
    • Extensive experience using C or C++ for embedded systems in real-time, multithreaded control applications 
    • Strong embedded fundamentals including bare-metal or RTOS, fi ed-point math, interrupt-driven control, unit tests, and HIL regressions 
    • Expert knowledge of power control algorithms and digital control design for power converters including PWM generation, current and voltage loops, observers, filters, and stability analysis 
    • Knowledge of peripheral communication protocols such as I2C and SPI, and industrial protocols such as Modbus, CAN, and Ethernet.
    • Proficient with OTS software communication debug and integration tools such as Vector CANalyzer, LabView, and etc. 
    • Electrical engineering depth including reading schematics, troubleshooting hardware interfaces, and working knowledge of gate drivers, sensors, protections, EMC, thermal, and safe bring-up 

Preferred Qualifications 
    • Lab proficiency using oscilloscopes, power analyzers, electronic loads, and safe high-power test practices 
    • Familiarity with software compliance standards (e.g., MISRA, ISO 26262, CMMI, ASPICE, or UL 1998)
    • Experience implementing secure bootloaders and OTA updates with signing and encryption

Salary Range
    • $110,000-130,000
    • The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
