About Us:

We're on a mission to make it possible for every person, team, and company to be able to tailor their software to solve any problem and take on any challenge. Computers may be our most powerful tools, but most of us can't build or modify the software we use on them every day. At Notion, we want to change this with focus, design, and craft.

We've been working on this together since 2016, and have customers like OpenAI, Toyota, Figma, Ramp, and thousands more on this journey with us. Today, we're growing fast and excited for new teammates to join us who are the best at what they do. We're passionate about building a company as diverse and creative as the millions of people Notion reaches worldwide.

Notion is an in person company, and currently requires its employees to come to the office for two Anchor Days (Mondays & Thursdays) and requests that employees spend the majority of their week in the office (including a third day).

About The Role:

Our Business Partnership team serves as a trusted advisor to the company, driving our budgeting, forecasting, and monthly-close processes, as well as guiding critical C-level decisions through insightful analyses & thought partnership. We are looking for a bright, driven individual who will partner closely with various teams including Marketing, Sales, Customer Experience, Accounting, and Procurement to support Executive-level understanding of our financial performance, dial in our forecasting accuracy, and take on strategic projects for GTM decision-makers. We are a lean team, so your impact will be felt immediately.

What You'll Achieve:
  • Be a critical financial partner to our Sales, Marketing, and Customer Experience organizations. You will be responsible for providing comprehensive financial planning, analysis, and reporting to support our GTM strategy and drive informed decision-making.

  • Act as a trusted financial advisor to GTM leadership, providing actionable insights and recommendations to optimize performance and achieve departmental and company-wide goals.

  • Own the development and management of GTM budgets and forecasts, including operating expenses and headcount. Conduct in-depth variance analysis and provide clear explanations for deviations.

  • Support the monthly and quarterly financial close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of GTM-related financials. Prepare and present compelling financial reports and presentations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing financial processes, reporting, and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.

  • Conduct ad-hoc financial analyses to support special projects, strategic initiatives, and executive requests.

Skills You'll Need to Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related quantitative field.

  • 2-5 years of progressive experience in FP&A, accounting, investment banking, consulting, or private equity.

  • Demonstrated experience partnering with Go-to-Market functions (Sales, Marketing, Customer Experience).

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (complex modeling, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, etc.) and Google Sheets.

  • Experience with financial planning systems (e.g., Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Pigment, Hyperion, Workday, NetSuite).

  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, concise, and actionable insights.

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey financial concepts to both finance and non-finance stakeholders, including senior leadership.

  • Positive attitude with high aptitude to learn new things quickly. Team player eager to further develop and grow with us.

  • Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, problem-solving skills, and hunger to continually up-level current approaches and processes.

  • Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail - “get it done” attitude.

Nice to Haves:
  • Experience with a high-growth SaaS company

  • MBA and/or CPA

  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite)

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
