WHERE YOU’LL WORK

The priority location for this role is Charlotte, NC, but the location of this position can be flexible for an Octagon office location with priority given to qualified candidates who will work East Coast working hours and open to hybrid work (3 days a week in the office) in one of our office locations - Stamford, CT, New York, NY, Los Angeles, CA, Chicago, IL, Atlanta, GA, or Miami, FL. We will also consider a remote-based working arrangement for qualified candidates

THE WORK YOU’LL DO 

We are seeking a Senior Event Executive to help bring our financial services client’s soccer community programming to life through impactful local initiatives and meaningful engagement with fans and families across the country.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in strengthening the bond between the brand and soccer communities nationwide – developing and executing youth clinics, community events and local partnerships that help grow the sport from the grassroots up. You’ll collaborate with organizations like U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF), FIFA™ and community partners to support programming that inspires participation, fosters inclusion and nurtures the next generation of athletes.

You will work closely with the Senior Experiential Manager and larger soccer team responsible for strategic development of our client’s community soccer portfolio. 

The ideal candidate is proactive, organized and collaborative, with strong communication skills and genuine excitement for working in a diverse team environment. You thrive in fast-paced settings, bring creative ideas to the table, and inspire those around you with positive energy. Roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support day-to-day team functions to help the team succeed
  • Serve as point-person for on-the-ground activation
  • Prepare necessary event documents including event guides, itineraries, meeting notes and post event recaps
  • Coordinate projects with vendors and internal Octagon resources
  • Develop a knowledge and understanding of financial service client’s sponsorship portfolio and business initiatives
  • Additional projects as assigned, which may include assistance on other events/programs, vendor research, etc.
  • A considerable amount of domestic event travel will be required throughout the year, including nights and weekends.
  • Perform additional duties and administrative responsibilities as needed.

  • Genuine passion for soccer and community engagement, with curiosity about the sport’s evolving landscape.
  • 3+ years’ experience in a related field.
  • You have a passion for events/experiences, ranging from large-scale custom experiences to small-scale turnkey events.

  • Endurance, stamina, and physical ability to work long hours for extended days during activations. 
  • Persistent enthusiasm, energy, and drive through the project both in the office and on the road. 
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. 
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand for up to or more than eight hours at a time. 
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and work weekends or holidays as needed. Anticipated travel level: High (40-60%). 

This position pays an annualized rate of $52,000 and is overtime-eligible. Contract positions with Octagon are not benefits-eligible.
