Requisition Number: 2026-8461
Position Overview
Are you excited by the opportunity to solve complex business challenges using Microsoft technology? The Senior Engineer provides technical leadership across the design, development, implementation, and support of solutions within Wipfli's Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365, and Power Platform ecosystem. Working closely with the Solution Architect and delivery team, this role translates solution designs and business requirements into practical technical approaches that engineers can implement.
This role leads technical analysis, solution refinement, proofs of concept, delivery guidance, and complex troubleshooting. It remains close to the technology, with approximately 20% to 30% of the role focused on hands-on development of complex, high-risk, reusable, or foundational components.
Responsibilities:
  • Translate solution architecture and business requirements into detailed technical approaches, estimates, dependencies, and actionable development work.
  • Lead technical refinement and recommend scalable, secure, maintainable implementation patterns across Dataverse, Dynamics 365, Power Apps, Power Automate, Azure, and related technologies.
  • Evaluate when requirements are best addressed through out-of-the-box capabilities, low-code configuration, custom development, integration, or another solution approach.
  • Create proofs of concept, technical spikes, prototypes, and reference implementations to validate assumptions and reduce delivery risk.
  • Serve as a technical lead and escalation point for complex design, development, integration, deployment, performance, security, and production-support issues.
  • Guide and mentor engineers through implementation, code and solution reviews, root-cause analysis, and reusable engineering practices.
  • Perform targeted development of complex or foundational components using technologies such as C#, .NET, JavaScript, custom APIs, plug-ins, PCF controls, Azure services, and integrations.
  • Partner with architecture, product, delivery, quality, and DevOps teams to support CI/CD, application lifecycle management, release readiness, and clear communication of technical risks and tradeoffs.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7+ years of relevant technical experience, including recent work designing, developing, implementing, or supporting Microsoft Dataverse and Dynamics 365 solutions.
  • Experience serving as a Senior Engineer, Technical Lead, Lead Developer, or similar technical leader for enterprise applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Dataverse, Dynamics 365 customer engagement applications, Power Apps, Power Automate, model-driven applications, data modeling, security, and solution management.
  • Experience extending and integrating Dataverse or Dynamics 365 using technologies such as C#, .NET, JavaScript, custom APIs, plug-ins, PCF controls, Azure services, SQL, and RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with technical refinement, proofs of concept, troubleshooting, CI/CD, source control, application lifecycle management, and Agile delivery practices.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to guide engineers and explain technical options, risks, and tradeoffs to varied audiences.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Power Pages, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Service Bus, API Management, or relevant web technologies.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, or Azure certifications.
  • Experience leading delivery across multiple teams or supporting enterprise applications in production

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
