Email is one of the most direct ways we connect with prospects and customers—and this is your opportunity to lead it. On the Digital Demand Gen team, you’ll have the ownership to set the strategy, the creative freedom to try new approaches, and the hands-on role to bring them to life. If you want to see your ideas translate into stronger engagement, pipeline, and revenue, this role puts that impact within reach.

Based in San Francisco, this senior individual-contributor role spans prospect nurture, pipeline generation, customer adoption, cross-sell, and upsell.

What you’ll do
  • Lead a multi-quarter roadmap for nurture, campaigns, newsletters, and follow-up journeys. Partner with Demand Gen and Sales to connect growth goals to audiences, messages, offers, and next steps.
  • Partner with Marketing Operations on the email calendar; own what goes out and when. Prioritize competing requests so each contact gets relevant, valuable content at the right time without being overwhelmed.
  •  Align campaign owners on priorities and timing, communicate tradeoffs, and push back constructively on requests that dilute the audience experience.
  • Set the creative bar for concepts, copy, and design. Use briefs and performance insights to guide reviews and coach Creative and Campaign partners toward useful, distinctive, on-brand emails.
  • Build, QA, and optimize modular emails in Knak, including personalization and reusable components. Create templates, workflows, and QA standards for consistent execution. Marketing Operations owns technical setup and sending; review their work and flag targeting, automation, tracking, or delivery issues.
  • Grow and protect the reachable prospect database. Partner with Marketing Operations on acquisition, segmentation, automation, deployment, deliverability, consent, and suppression.
  • Lead testing across audiences, offers, messages, formats, cadence, and timing, prioritizing experiments by business impact and learning value.
  • Measure conversion, pipeline, opportunities, and revenue alongside engagement, audience health, and deliverability. Turn results into clear recommendations for leadership on strategy, creative, targeting, and investment.
  • Partner with Lifecycle and Customer Marketing to develop and optimize adoption, cross-sell, and upsell programs as core email priorities.
What we’re looking for
  • 5+ years leading B2B SaaS email, demand generation, or growth programs, with ownership of multi-quarter roadmaps and measurable pipeline or revenue impact.
  • Deep hands-on Knak experience and enough technical fluency in segmentation, automation, tracking, and deliverability to review send setup and recognize when something isn’t working.
  • Strong creative and editorial judgment; you can improve messaging, concepts, and execution beyond the initial brief.
  • Strategic, analytical thinking across audience growth, experimentation, database health, and performance tied to business outcomes.
  • Strong cross-functional influence and clear communication with leadership. You can align stakeholders, make tradeoffs, push back constructively, mentor teammates, and drive accountability.

Nice to have

  • Working knowledge of Marketo, Salesforce, or similar marketing systems.
  • Experience with customer adoption, cross-sell, or upsell, or email across multiple segments, regions, or products.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent — not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
