🎬 EDITOR-PRODUCER WANTED |  Make every second earn the next

πŸ“ Location: Los Angeles (Hybrid, 3+ days in studio)

πŸ’° Compensation: $80,000–$95,000

πŸš€ ABOUT TUBESCIENCE

We're a creative strategy and production company building high-performing video ads for DTC and e-commerce brands, combining data, direct-response principles, and creative craft to help clients scale profitably on Meta, TikTok, YouTube, CTV and beyond. We move fast and test constantly, which means post can't be a place where work sits around waiting for the next round of notes.

πŸ’‘THE ROLE

We're looking for a Senior Editor-Producer who owns the cut, not just the timeline: an exceptional editor first, with the producer instincts to find and shape the story on their own.

You'll take everything from testimonials and interviews to podcast clips, UGC, and skits and turn it into story-driven ads for social and CTV, with minimal direction. If the hook isn't working, you fix it. If the story drags, you restructure it. If the footage doesn't quite match the brief, you figure out the best version of the ad anyway. And when you can see what the edit will need before the cameras roll, you speak up.

We expect strong technical skills, but what we're really hiring for is judgment: instincts for story, pacing, and performance, and the confidence to make the call.

🎬 WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Own the cut: Take raw footage from first assembly to final delivery, making the editorial calls along the way instead of waiting for someone else to diagnose every problem.
  • Find the story: Dig through client footage libraries, whatever the format, to pull the strongest moments and build them into ads that hold attention.
  • Edit for every placement: Cut for social and CTV, delivering the hooks, lengths, and aspect ratios we need to test, where every second has to earn the next one.
  • Explore, test, and take swings: If you see a stronger hook, a better structure, or a completely different way into the story, go for it. We want editors who are excited to push the creative, not just follow instructions.
  • Collaborate and iterate: Work closely with your Strategy team and Lead Editor. Bring your own point of view, take feedback well, and push each round of the cut further.
  • Shape the story before the shoot: Weigh in early on production concepts and give feedback to production teams on what needs to be captured so the edit works.
  • Learn from performance: Use results to understand what's working, and bring that into the next round of creative.
  • Use AI, don't fight it: Post is changing fast. Lean on new tools for the mechanical work so you spend more time on story and judgment.
  • Make the process better: If you see the same problem happening over and over, help us fix the workflow instead of working around it.

🧬 WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
  • 5+ years of professional video editing experience, ideally in advertising, branded content, or unscripted.
  • A portfolio that shows strong pacing, structure, and editorial decision-making across a range of formats and tones.
  • Expert-level Premiere Pro, with strong familiarity across the Adobe Creative Suite.
  • A strong eye for graphics: you can build text, titles, and animations that keep the ad engaging and aligned with the client's brand and design goals.
  • Story producer or editor-producer experience: you've built compelling stories from raw, unscripted footage.
  • Comfort making fast calls on incomplete information across multiple projects at once.
  • A collaborative approach: you bring a strong point of view and take feedback well.
  • Based in Los Angeles and able to work from our studio at least 3 days a week.
 βž• NICE TO HAVE
  • Experience editing and producing a high volume of paid-social creative at a performance creative agency or DTC brand.
  • Familiarity with direct-response advertising and performance metrics (hook rate, hold rate, CTR, ROAS).
  • Experience cutting for CTV or broadcast as well as social.
  • Experience editing for YouTube creators, short-form studios, or other fast-moving content teams.
  • A background in docuseries or podcast production.
  • Advanced motion design, sound design, or color skills.
  • Experience using AI or emerging post-production tools to speed up your workflow.

What you need to know about the Los Angeles Tech Scene

Los Angeles is a global leader in entertainment, so it’s no surprise that many of the biggest players in streaming, digital media and game development call the city home. But the city boasts plenty of non-entertainment innovation as well, with tech companies spanning verticals like AI, fintech, e-commerce and biotech. With major universities like Caltech, UCLA, USC and the nearby UC Irvine, the city has a steady supply of top-flight tech and engineering talent β€” not counting the graduates flocking to Los Angeles from across the world to enjoy its beaches, culture and year-round temperate climate.

Key Facts About Los Angeles Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 375,800; 5.5% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Snap, Netflix, SpaceX, Disney, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, adtech, media, software, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $11.6 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Strong Ventures, Fifth Wall, Upfront Ventures, Mucker Capital, Kittyhawk Ventures
  • Research Centers and Universities: California Institute of Technology, UCLA, University of Southern California, UC Irvine, Pepperdine, California Institute for Immunology and Immunotherapy, Center for Quantum Science and Engineering
